Hello again, Fren!😁

Thanks for your comprehensive response to my message! (and for the big Zap...)

Now I "get" where you're coming from a little better, and I'm sorry if I missed your emphasis on fiat. Yet, perhaps I am more optimistic when it comes to #Bitcoin in the near-term than you are?😃

"...politics are just a game designed to keep people thinking about the issues, and not what is actually causing 95% of our issues."

I couldn't agree more. The state is a counterproductive distraction from reality and it keeps almost everyone on a hamster wheel, wasting time trying to solve things politically by addressing symptoms and fighting one another. It sounds as if you and I are "in violent agreement" about many things, except perhaps a timeline.

I think my greater optimism comes from a few sources; first, observing the events of the past few years with what I believe was an entirely fabricated "covid health crisis." I think a lot of folk who were on the fence about the legitimacy of the state were awakened when they saw a coordinated effort by states around the world to coerce us into unwanted and unneeded 'vaccinations' and to force small businesses to self-destruct and to disrupt global supply chains. Though I found all those things abhorrent, I rejoice that many people have begun to see the state as the enemy it is.

In much more recent times, the collapse of sh*tcoins and their exchanges, as well as huge bank runs in the USA, accompanied by wild swings in Federal Reserve monetary policy has, I think, awakened even more. We're also seeing a large amount of Bitcoin leaving the exchanges, and I believe the recent sharp rise in BTC pricing is a strong indicator that Bitcoin is finally decoupling from the rest of the market in a significant way.

I must admit that I've been puzzled and amazed at what seems to me to be the almost magical way that inflation has been held to as low a figure as we are seeing for this long, but I can't see how the PTSB (Powers That Shouldn't Be) can possibly keep a lid on the eventuality of hyperinflation much longer?

I must also admit that their propaganda machine is almost unbelievably powerful, and that I know people who really ought to be bright enough to know better who have yet to see through the smoke and mirrors the state uses to fool us...

But I still think there is going to be a "gradually... then SUDDENLY" when we will reach a tipping point, and the true value of all assets will quite rapidly flow into Bitcoin, perhaps almost overnight. I don't know what will trigger that, but (optimistically) I think it could begin to happen rather abruptly, possibly as we approach the next halving?

In any case, my hope is ultimately in Jesus/God my creator; and in human terms, Bitcoin as sound and incorruptible money which I also see as a "God-thing" because it is based on mathematics and is designed to incentivize sound, ethical principles.

Thanks for kicking off this enjoyable conversation, and have hope, keep on orange and purple pilling folks, and as they say, "Stay Humble and Stack Sats" ...🙏😊😄

Thank you again for your reply. 🙂

I wholeheartedly agree with what you wrote, so I won’t add much to it.

I’ll just say I hope you are right and that the “suddenly” moment is nigh.

Either way, we should keep educating people and showing them how reality is, what governments have actually been doing with our money (waging endless wars abroad against strangers, but also within our countries against their own people), and how #Bitcoin fixes all of this.

Each day, every day, until there are enough eyes and minds open.

Take care brother, and let’s work for a bright orange future together. 🙏

#introductions should have it’s own custom Damus tag #[1]

I need help from my betters.

I have heard the following argument several time :

"There are two ways out of the gigantic pile of debt countries have amassed over the past 50 years:

a) Financial repression through inflation. Paying old debt with freshly printed, debased dollars, hurting savers, and probably leading to social unrest/possible hyperinflation.

b) Enormous productivity gains. Before "Atomic Fusion" was the leading theory, now it's the emerging "AI/AGI" narrative.

I certainly agree with a), that's my base case.

However, regarding b), I don't see how productivity gains through AI would fix the debt situation, or our societies in any way.

The current AI is leading us to the "Automation Revolution", which allows a few skilled engineers to automate complex processes, by being assisted by unlimited superhuman assistants, which costs a fraction of human labor, are pretty malleable, reliable, and can learn to do any digital task you want.

Today, processes usually involve 2 to 100+ persons, and the timeframe and costs are correlated with the amount of persons involved in said processes.

The final cost and final time spent on a project are usually exponential.

AI, on the other hand, will have a rather linear time spent and cost, however big or small the project is, and it's easy to envision a team of 5 skilled engineers replacing (at least) 50-100 other person on a given project.

In this reality, I find really hard to believe that most of these 50 replaced persons will be able to find work in the same industry (if they were replaced, they didn't make the cut...).

Since another strong suit of AI is the ability to keep repeating/improving a project at very low cost, which then you can sell as a product/API, the incentive is to have the few best engineers/prompters leveraging AI as much as possible.

So, if we remove even just 30% (low estimate) of the white collar jobs due to "productivity" gains, these people will have to find a new line of work, which will probably pay them less... or will just have to stop working due to depression.

Meanwhile, the elite engineers working on developing/prompting AI will probably get paid much more than before, leading to even more wealth concentration.

Which forces me to think that with the coming automation of so many jobs, the only way out of it in a fiat world will be to print money. This will probably be done through UBI, most likely branded something like "Solidarity Tax", levied in a small part through special "token" taxes on AI company for political theater, and in a big part from printing money... which is basically the same result as a).

Am I missing something, or is something just wrong in my line of reasoning ?

Would love to have anyone's insight about it, and maybe some esteemed minds like #[0] #[1] #[2] can also chime in!

If you read til here, thank you. 🙏

Every day I have a look over at what’s left of Twitter I feel a bit more retarded.

The level of discourse over there is basically who’s going to build the biggest strawman, and when the strawman has collapsed under its own weight it’s straight into ad hominem.

The only think bringing me back is that not all the people I like moved on nostr ; I think maybe 10% did.

We should try to onboard more people on nostr, from all backgrounds, and have them bring with audiences so we can fulfill what Twitter was meant to be : true free speech and thoughtful discussions between people having different point of views, looking to find the best solutions to our problems.

Thank you WalletOfSatoshi, I am honored to have my own custom LNURL ! 😁

I’ll make sure to use it well by spreading sats. 🫡💜🧡

#woscustomaddressgiveaway

Why should I get a custom address ?

Because my current address is quackyfreon16@walletofsatoshi.com and Freon is a gas now mostly banned due to causing damage to the ozone layer.

I already to have to spend hours every week explaining to my nocoiner friends that the NYT (s)hitpieces are full of lies and that Bitcoin isn’t boiling the ocean, stealing energies from hospitals and causing blackouts in the winter… please spare me having to also have to explain to them why my LNURL is called quackyfreon… 🥹

mysth@walletofsatoshi.com would be a great replacement. Also it’s much simpler to recall, and my friends would have no excuses to not send me sats after they are orange pilled.

Thank you for having helped me onboard people in 2 minutes with the simplest Bitcoin wallet ! 😁

Ever since the Dogecoin bullshit and the Bitcoin buy-then-sell from Tesla, I always thought we could not count on Elon anymore if we wanted to change the world for the better.

On Twitter, “free” speech costs $8, you get a shitcoin icon on your browser, and now can’t even link anything from Substack.

Substack is one on the last place on the internet where freedom of speech exists, and where actual journalism lives after being forgotten by MSM.

It’s a match made in heaven for nostr, and whoever has the means to should contact Substack management and see if they’d be willing to integrate nostr for publications and comments.

We really need people from different horizon here, not only Bitcoiners.

You can make a good case that Tesla and SpaceX revolutionized two industries under Elon’s leadership.

As I said, Lyn is mostly right, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a some nuance too.

Too many people have given Elon a pass. Don't give him a pass.

He's a marketer, not a founder or an engineer. He didn't found PayPal or Tesla; he bought into them early. He's good at selling narratives and equity valuation for perpetually unprofitable companies.

Everything for him is a narrative. His green revolution was a narrative to sell more cars and get more subsidies. His bitcoin purchase was to gain appeal among bitcoin/crypto people in a bull market. And he shilled doge like a dumbass. His SpaceX narrative is to get money from the government.

His rooftop solar thing was an outright scam; the technology isn't ready and went nowhere because of that. His full-self-driving-in-an-intermediate-term timeline was a scam, and is going nowhere because of that. He makes scams to draw people and capital in, because for him it's all about narratives and equity valuation.

And then he dug unproductive holes, suggested unproductive hyper-tubes, built meme flamethrowers, for what? It's a narrative, not a business. None of this is real productive shit to make peoples' lives better.

His latest "we need free speech" narrative was a scam too. He tapped into something real, which is what marketers do and why it kind of worked. Yes, we need free speech. Yes, Twitter had censorship issues. He saw that and jumped on it maliciously rather than productively.

But what did he replace it with? He replaced it with arbitrary journalist censorship about his private jet, arbitrary censorship of Substack, selective Twitter Files release, won't talk seriously about any of his China connections because Xi Jinping fucking owns him economically there like Jack Ma, has his balls firmly in his grasp, etc.

Elon's playing the narrative, the anti-woke meme of the day. He's a master meme-momentum-player. Don't fall for it.

I think the situation is a bit more nuanced, especially regarding some technology breakthrough.

Nonetheless you’re mostly right, and we need to see more people keep him accountable.

And I’d love to see an exodus from Twitter to nostr.

Because when you can create (premine in this case) the currency out of nothing, you have an incentive to get people to adopt your currency as money, so you can dump it on them.

Fiat prints digital tokens out of nothing.

Crypto premines digital tokens out of nothing.

Oh well I just updated to the last TF version of Damus and now it’s blue. 🤷‍♂️
