It is difficult to tell from that code diff if X-Twitter is blocking #nostr, since

1. "nostr" is not a url

2. there are many nostr urls

They blocked Mastodon urls so they could block nostr ones too of course.

I did find blue to give quite a few interesting benefits and on the whole it improved since Musk took over, but I did get throttled 3 times even while paying for Blue...

To get Mathematicians intersted in using #nostr you need to make #Math Markdown Available on the platform and displayable in #nostrclients.

This was what made me choose gitlab a few years ago over github for the #webcats forum. https://web-cats.gitlab.io

Math Markdown is why mathematicians are happily chatting on https://categorytheory.zulipchat.com and it was the first thing they added support to for https://mathstodon.xyz .

Of course I think markdown would be quite helpful for normal posts too. Hey Twitter has bold, italic, bullets, and stuff like that now...

Just trying @Plebstr which displays posts well, but It only shows 4 of my 12 followers.

Each of these apps does some things well and other messes up with other things.

It is still a bit difficult to understand what is going on. Is it the app or is it my relays that are not working?

but it seems Jacob Silverman lives in a political bubble that forgets or ignores that the Democrats were pushing vaccine scepticism during the Trump presidency. See this video for proof:

Of course, they would try to downplay Operation #WarpSpeed before the election as the vaccine was presented as the miracle answer to all problems, the Eucharist that would bring the US All together and risk. They felt that not being sceptical would risk them losing the election.

But then to so blatantly push the opposite story when in power, to the point of mandating vaccines and then argue that anybody who is a sceptic is an extreme right-winger is just an astounding lack of self-awareness.

So both sides have taken positions that are those of #RFKJr when it suited them. And even the notion of Operation Warp Speed proves nostr:npub1hq0kkf67h5n63uz0l5zac94un73jnjudn3ryh3aahagx3qvwq0qq8wf9mp's point: the vaccine was put together much too quickly for real testing to take place - certainly no testing on the consequences of the vaccine beyond what was visible in 3 months. The testing took place on millions of people's live.

The other side is always evil, even when it says the same thing as oneself just 3 months earlier. That is schizoid behaviour.

So I guess that means that #Nostr UIs should have a write mode that saves Toots to a local cache, and asks you to think about it before posting. (A bit like what Twitter does now). I always find spelling mistakes or other minor errors in my tweets...

As a recent user here is some feedback from using nostr - without having yet read the protocol details - here are some unfiltered opinions:

1. having many apps on the same data is very good (This is similar to the #SolidPlatform philosophy)

2. It definitely feels a lot more censorship resistant than Mastodon, which is less open than Twitter now! 3. It is a bit confusing for the moment still

a. Initially I found very few posts on the platform. I had to find out how to open the social network graph much wider

b. Even after posting quite a lot, I found the social interaction is quite dampened for some reason.

c. That may be because some people are posting from other platforms such as Mastodon, so they don't perhaps see the responses given? UIs may need to make that clearer.

d. I am using 4 Browser based UIs that have different advantages and disadvantages, and I find I have to use them all one after another to make sure things are as one shows them to be on the others.

e. I would need a NIP-07 browser plugin that keeps a log of signings, and where I can change preferences. (perhaps that exists). Otherwise how do I know if one App is not just deleting all my Posts? NIP-07 is essential for security.

f. The Mastodon proxy I think creates a key for the toots on Mastodon. So it created a key pair to do that. How does one take over that key, so that the Mastodon intermediary does not end up with the ring that rules them all?
