If we have ‘hoarded’ our bitcoin and earned it honestly, we have rendered more goods and services of value to society than we have made claims on, and thus provided a net gain to society. Also, by increasing the demand for bitcoin we have increased the value of everyone’s bitcoin.

By trying to persuade others we are hoping for a net return on our efforts, in that they will then become bitcoiners and do the work of manifesting the bitcoin economy. If we instead invest our energy personally in the idea and do the work of manifesting the idea we will have created more value and a more attractive proposition for anyone observing.
