Is there a Monero community (/n/) on nostr? I know you guys are here, I was searching for a board. The chat is full of scam shills.
So I read about this ruling. Interestingly, the judge ruled that the prosecution can use the evidence they found, because they acted in good faith according to legal precedent at the time. So the guy won't walk free, it's just that going forward they can't force you to unlock your phone without a warrant.
It looks like the judge did this because he didn't want the guy to go free. I think I'm glad he won't but that it is very unusual for a judge to do something like that. I don't know how legally sound such a decision is.
Well the great thing about Nostr is there's no real global feed, there's no algorithm to show you people. If you want to keep the noise down all you really have to do is keep your network small. That's what I do, my rule is if I can't read everything everyone I follow posted within the last 24 hours in under 20 minutes once a day then I follow too many people.
Porque no los dos?
Chickens lay eggs and eat bugs. They're easier.
Lol I've got it on and it doesn't work yet. I have to figure out why.
Glad to see you here BTW.
FYI you can't tip with it directly in your nostr client. It's best to use Garnet or something you can do that with
Oh OK because I was going to say, there's a ton more, monerica is a great resource for this kind of stuff.
On shamir backups:
I like the idea. But I have a huge gripe with it.
With normal seed + passphrase, you get plausible deniability. Give up your seed to an attacker, he thinks he got what you have, but the big bucks are actually in the seed with offset. It'd great and undetectable.
With shamir backups, you can't do this. You can do passphrase offsets, but this changes your redundancy from x of n to x of n with one additional element being required. Using a passphrase offset means that you have to have that passphrase, not just a subset of keys. It makes shamir backups pretty much pointless.
What would be better would be a scheme where, say you have a 6 of 10 shamir set up, you can create also a 5 of 10 backup that uses the same 10 keys. That way, you can give an attacker one less than the number he needs and he wouldn't know the difference.
I don't think this is possible, from my understanding, attempting to find two different seed keys, each that can be converted into an x of n and an x-1 of n that share all the same mnemonics is akin to brute forcing a hash collision. I wonder if there were some way that this could be done, because if it could I think that such a backup would be superior to single seed mnemonics in every case.
Am I the only person who hates likes/react emoji? Sometimes they're appropriate, but they're used too often. If you like what someone says, boost them! Talk to them. If you really think their words have value, zap em. I intend to start zapping more, in Monero of course.

I forgot; previous work on that one! (my (old) site [back online].
OK...
The FAQ about what the zip file is about says:
> The World's First FREE Algorithm for HUMAN :~)
And links to an external site called ascension-algorithm . com.
The very first question in the FAQ:
>Q What is this site all about?
>
>A Easy answer: final defeat of the cabal. Complicated answer, too complicated to write right now, but amongst them would be economic goals, legal goals, markets related goals, policing, intelligence and military (counter-intelligence) goals.
Too complicated to write about? Then why write a FAQ at all? I would think the point of a website would be to actually explain what you're on about mate. Care to explain, in any detail at all, what on earth you're talking about with regard to all this cybertorture and what not?
What you are tangled up in is my #cybertorture (per my profile, I'm a #targeted
individual). At least you were clever enough to notice. Most are not.
Unfortunately you were not clever enough to have phrased this line much more intelligently: "Just FYI, the guy appears to be just a little schizo lol.".

Let's try (please) dropping the insults. You can't read properly, I can.
I won't take the piss out of your illiteracy. Learn to read though, before you throw insults at those that can, might be a wise choice of action.

FWIW, I'm used to the overwhelming amount of insults inbound (it's been a long 20 years) ... On a planet full of illiterates who think they can read, but cannot.
> let's not throw insults around
> you're stupid and illiterate
Alright man. Look, you can just accept how youre viewed by the world and if you like who you are, who cares? I'm nobody to you. Bringing attention to the fact that you're in a client side spam filter for the largest mobile nostr client and therefore limiting your voice is a very nice thing I've done. Maybe look to the positives.
As far as the schizo thing, I checked out your website(s?) and I'm seeing no explanation at all about what any of it actually is about, a download for a zip file with an explanation that is an unintelligible screenshot with a link in it. A link, that I can't click, because it's in a screenshot. Another one on another screenshot about a cypher table links to an archive of a page on your site, again, in a screenshot, presumably the page you archived is still up on your server?
If youre actually trying to teach people about something that seems to be very important, it would be helpful if the information was actually navigable and intelligible. Smart people don't download zip files from sites where they can't glean an ounce of information about whatever it is you're on about.
I'd really like to understand what it is you're on about on your site man. What is cybertorture? What does the zip file do?
Does amethyst auto block people?
I'm getting a pretty weird behavior in Garnet with regard to a certain npub, I guess some specific person replied to something I said, I went to see it and he shows as blocked though I've never encpuntered him. When I go back to my notifications, his reply is gone. When I unblock, then go refresh, it shows blocked again. When I search the npub in primal using the same nsec, it's not blocked. When I search in Garnet using a different nsec, it's also blocked. If I follow it won't show as blocked.
I don't know if this is a bug or if amethyst is shadow blocking people in the client. Does anyone know anything about this?
If youre using amethyst or garnet, you can test it, here's the npub

Just FYI, the guy appears to be just a little schizo lol.
Really fucky shit, either some weird bug or amethyst is censoring npubs.
So, looking at open issues in amethyst, it appears they have a really messy spam filtering system.
Apparently there's your blocked list, a "spammer" list that shows empty but actually has npubs in it that are blocked that you can't unblock unless following, a check box for warning you when your followers reported someone you encounter, and a check box to filter spam from strangers.
Somehow, there is hidden block list built into amethyst that you can't see, and the details of how accounts wind up there are really not well explained anywhere, but appear to be from other amethyst users reporting npubs, in some cases from any user and in others only your follows.

I'm a garnet user, so I've got one in bio for XMR zaps.
Dude.
Unified push? I had no idea. How did I not know that this existed?
Conversations as unified push distributor to send push notifications from amethyst (actually, garnet) without google play services. It's like magic.
Feel free to respond to this in any way you like so that I can get them sweet, sweet push notifications.
