Same here. Haven’t missed a beat. Thank god for Linux.
On this day (every day, tbh), I am very glad I took a mini-retirement 😮💨
#crowdstrike #outage
Interesting, why is that?
Mix coins for deniability, multisig, distribute keys geographically.
They can put you in jail until you give it to them though. But if your sense of “fuck you” is strong enough there’s not shit else they can do.

Top class meme. Top. Class.
Every day and sometimes twice a day. It's summer and I'm a sweaty boy 🥲
All relay implementations have event kind filtering, and max event sizes with reasonable defaults, 65k for strfry or 128k nostr-rs for example. Those are there to stop misuses just such as this. If this data gets truncated or rejected because you're (IMO irresponsibly) shoving data into a kind 1.... That's not on me.
I don't see how this experience isn't janky in the best case for users.
I have a lot of respect for you and what you’ve done for Nostr, and I also don’t need your permission to do whatever I want on my relay. So don’t tell me what to do.
Yea storing images directly on relays. I personally would block this on my relay. Or drastically limit the size of the data. I don’t want to serve images.
It’s just a binary encoding of the image. You should be able to reconstitute it manually with a command like this on Mac or Linux to see what it is:
base64 -D > image.webp
Give it a good scrub with a scotchbrite and reseason it
I think it’s a matter of when, not if. It’s increasingly looking like the answer is months instead of years. $100k by end of year is only a 50% increase. Weirder things have happened. The 2025 prediction is the one I have issue with. Only a 50% increase next year would be odd, historically speaking. The year after a halving has had huge gains trough to peak. Like 4x in 2021 to 20x in 2017. If we get even half of the run that 2021 had we’re looking at $200k based on his $100k EOY prediction.
It feels to me the macro situation of the US debt problem is a lot more mainstream. A lot more people are talking about fiscal dominance. And these warnings from Powell and Yelen should be viewed from the lens of their positions in the system. The fact THEY of all people are making the comments they are should be a blaring alarm to anyone paying attention.
There’s a great podcast called ‘It Could Happen Here’ about what a second American civil war might look like. Generally, no it wouldn’t be two-sides standing against each other in a large scale war. But factionalized regional skirmishes like you said. And acts of terrorism would likely play a large part. The Syrian civil war is very likely how it would look.
Also keep in mind the American civil war had a fighting force of 10% of the population. Most of the population in a war don’t actually fight. I can imagine some percentage of Trump’s far right wing of his base would be angered by his death enough to commit acts of political terrorism, which would provoke response from some percentage of the far left radicals. Things can boil into all out war very quickly, overnight even.
Anyway, it could happen. Not saying it will, but I don’t think we can say people are too lazy for it to happen. I hope you are right that people are too lazy, but I just don’t think that’s the case.
The incentives at play. Beautiful seeing that happen in politics today. Trump took the pro-Bitcoin stance and Biden’s administration almost immediately softened their anti-Bitcoin stance.
All roads lead to Bitcoin.
As soon as we saw he wasn't killed I told my wife "we just dodged a civil war by half an inch".
