Is this because VPNs tend to use a single server to handle customer traffic? Tests for use of VPN seem to rely on open ports so perhaps separate ingress and egress servers would be an improvement that can be asked for.
Maybe it's conversations? Amethyst and Primal both make replies first class citizens and more established users generate more replies so there's your second order phenom.
For me, the level of engagement feels real and proportional to effort. It's also great knowing that lulls are not because I'm shadowbanned or demoted by the algorithm. It's either a time-zone thing or the posts are weak. Both are fixable.
And water can give you hyponatremia. "Too much of a good thing." Of course people can over do it but of these three, caffeine is a stretch.
Maybe nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m has seen some folks take energy drinks too far.
A reasonable definition for poison: A substance that causes injury, illness, or death, especially by chemical means.
Caffeine doesn't seem to fit.
Hey I was just looking through GitHub and found this! Do you have anything written up that describes the idea? Search is fascinating and foundational to many features so I wonder if there's any particular direction you're interested in pursuing.
It's a good question. Provable builds would be nice. Updates should obviously be optional. Ultimately I like a web of trust model where my follows can rep that they've not experienced problems with a range of releases.
The numbers are already fudged. What they're saying with 3% is the fudging isn't strong enough. Stay humble and stack sats.
Sorry, that wasn't very clear of me! I was thinking of purple ostriches or other Nostr themed artwork. I could imagine some of us nerds would be into that. I have a Nostrasia shirt which is the only way anyone would know I'm on here.
I'm glad you found Nostr! I've also been an early-adopter for a long time and rather than the market changing on me I get bored and switch to other things. That's why I never built a large following. Nostr is technically interesting and new enough that I feel like I can contribute. That plus the zapping dynamic is very exciting. I like that more people respond here and hope to see this grow to we get connected in healthier ways vs the earlier platforms. I'll add you to my list of Nostr artists so I can check back. Have you done any Nostriches?
Freedom tech consists of a great number of technologies that challenge central authority. There is lag between their development, use, detection, and response. The most impactful freedom tech will grow large in the shadows. Nostr's power is in creating a network of accounts that coordinate and flourish in such shadows.
User innovations are the source of many great products.
How long will it be before the french press is marketed to tea drinkers?
Perhaps it can be redesigned for the tea aesthetic.
The Twitter account is not mine and never has been.
The nostr accounts are mine as long as I can keep the nsec private.
Problem: Nostrocket depends on centralized platform GitHub for source code management
While the problems in Spaceman are assembled from Nostr notes, submission of patches is done through GitHub. The problem is that GitHub has the power to restrict users and projects from using its platform. Case in point, I created a Github account specifically to contribute to Nostrocket but it was shadowbanned. GitHub support responded to a support request with, "Your account has been hidden from view as it appears to have been one of many created in an account farming effort." even though it's only the second account I've created.
Proposed solution: Store source code in nostr notes and manage patches through Nostr. Available tools that may help are git-nostr and git-nostr-tools listed at https://github.com/aljazceru/awesome-nostr
A great social network will not impose economic restrictions. Throttling substack needs to stop.
GitHub flagged my new account because they say it was part of an account farming effort. The only reason for the account is to contribute to Nostr stuff like Nostrocket and NIPs as a nym. The funny thing is it operates like a shadow ban. I had no idea since I can do everything but have my work seen. Still working on it but I'm curious what sort of success and problems have been identified with Nostrified git.
My statement was more about terrorist or traumatic events in general, but it sounds like you see crimes that need to be prosecuted, so we are not really in conflict. May conspirators and perpetrators of all moral crimes see justice.
