Used to but stopped when I couldn't stay off DNSBL or other black lists. From what I understand email has turned into an old boys network.
Are you double-clicking post? Created an issue in the PWA web app because latency there made me do the same.
The tag line is reaching but the design is cool. Could use a bit more color in the background. Some of this is fashion I guess. Hopefully you'll get to enough volume to AB test options.
Cool is elusive and tiktok is a rare phenom but for focus I Ioved what RHR went over last time.
Having tried almost all the use cases, I'd say store-of-value is the only one that's lived up to the promise. Lightning and zaps on Nostr are fun though.
Reddit post-API change ewww. I'll be back when they do API for sats.
Now we're talking! It's algorithm time.
Trending is an attention mechanism. It directs individual and collective attention which we all kind of like because you know, shared experience and whatnot. But what kind of experience? How should all that wonderful attention be directed?
Obviously like everything else on Nostr, this is a choice that should be available to each user, but we're lazy and so a few simple options would be great. Unfortunately, at this moment, there aren't enough good options. Primal's is the best, but as you highlight some users seem to have cracked the secret.
If I had my choice, the algorithm would highlight important new information and thoughtful conversation about it. Perhaps this could be driven by comment counts and lengths, assuming spammers stay tf out. Truth is no one knows the exact formula but here we have chaos on our side. The thing to do is try lots of algorithms and see what wins. To make that happen, and where have I heard this before, we need to open source the algorithm.
As for Primal's current situation, one might label "always the same people" as the brass ring phenomenon. It seems to arise in networks where there's no ceiling on influence. Cap that influence and we may see more variety of people represented.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
I have a related question.
Which Nostr experience has the best built-in editor?
I tend to compose elsewhere and paste in but that experience isn't always great. Some editors seem to depend on keypresses to manage geometry.
In the latest episode of RHR, nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx and nostr:npub1guh5grefa7vkay4ps6udxg8lrqxg2kgr3qh9n4gduxut64nfxq0q9y6hjy shared some insights for the Nostr community. They are summarized here in hopes of facilitating continued discussion. Feel free to reply with relevant issues, changelogs, and posts that addressing any of the following.
* Timing: Nostr is posiitoned well in terms of timing for mainstream adoption, especially with concerns about censorship and the need for decentralization.
* Censorship Resistance: This aspect of Nostr is a significant improvement over centralized social media. It allows users to have more control over what they see and interact with.
* User-Friendly Onboarding: Nostr has the potential to be way easier to setup than other platforms that require a lot of PII so it's important to make the onboarding process more user-friendly. It needs to be easier to get a pre-populated feed and not need to worry as much about choosing relays. Private keys are not the main friction point.
* Moderation: Nostr should continue to prioritize user control and community moderation, allowing users to mute or filter content according to their preferences. Ex: Primal lets you choose another user's mute list.
* Lightning Integration: Many users are still using custodial wallets. Onboarding users to non-custodial Lightning wallets can be a bit challenging.
* Private Key Security: It would be good to have a mechanism for a backup private key in case of compromise. It's not a top priority compared to other usability improvements however, this is still important to ensure user security.
* US Election Cycle: This is a potential catalyst for increased adoption of Nostr, as users may seek platforms that offer more freedom of expression and less censorship during politically-charged times.

Good day!
This is #InkblotArt, the note that zaps you for your imagination!
Today is September 7, 2023. Block height of 806591
Today's pleb in focus is nostr:npub136g3d7nk8svyf7p04rwpd3ky8wk02tnz45xp4rw3t03pfkq5rh4sr5qrs8 ; currently hosting a podcast about Bitcoin and freedom tech. Having an intense curiosity about pre Bitcoin currencies, the real thing hit the sweet spot for Audrey and they never looked back. "Sound money", was key in lighting up her laser eyes.
For Audrey, Nostr brings a sense of freedom along with a plethora of possiblities with the implementation of the lightning network. She looks to Nostr as a refuge from the overstepping overlords of social media.

If I look at just one side I see waves crashing on the rocks.
Now your shoes problem is cut in half.
See it on Primal where it causes duplicates. See it on Amethyst where it eats battery and heats phones. I worry about relays becoming smart in order to address these issues. Gotta keep the pipe dumb, focus on problems at the edges, and make protocols smarter.
Fat is nature's proof-of-work.
We've been too good at this kind of work so this is the backlash. People are haven't gotten that the key problem has switched from availability to personal regulation.
So, where is the best place to track and prove these problems on a high-level? Is there a nostr-scoped issue tracker? Should I create one?
If we're going to find value in VR, it needs to be on open source hardware. There are efforts, however that initial "if" is a big one.
Let those who are interested explore this path.
This is why a good personal network is important. Here we can detect when a byline deteriorates and when new ones to follow arise.
So beautiful nostriches, who's doing good work now?
The latest I've followed is Public (https://public.substack.com/)
It's important to identify and prove out problems wherever we find them. Only by highlighting them can we bring attention where developers/designers/artists can win glory.
Gigwork is labor routing around red tape.
That's a good question and probably an interesting research direction. Wondering if we have any kind of Nostr document collaboration tool to collect links to such.
