Chief user experience complainer. Head of FOMO.

AAA! We CAUGHT HIM! Any decent LLM agent would use genAI to generate the picture.

I bet this is just some real dude MANUALLY REPLYING and shit, not LLM as advertised.

Who chases the chasers? We do!

😉

Wohoo! Welcome to Nostr! We are very excited to have you and thank you for all your investigations on Pegasus and more! 🫂 💜

Now, please verify yourself by posing with a shoe on your head.

People should be free to do whatever stupid thing they want to do, but doing this just complicates the experience for everyone and further it just doesn't make sense.

Clients would have to add code (=bugs) to handle this, UI would have to be redone to make this reasonable, it fractions the network into multiple pieces that will be harder to keep in sync, protocol becomes more complex to implement. Even if you are Monero or whatever supporter you should be able to see how this would hurt a lot of people and make the overall progress slower.

If you need the other coins for whatever reason then your wallet can do the swapping. Like Blink wallet allows you to swap sats for "stable" balance in the wallet. I bet Monero wallets do the same. If that's possible and easy then there are no reasons to update the whole stack just to add couple of these coins.

11/ If you believe in hyperbitcoinization you will need to start spending bitcoin at some point anyway. So you might as well start today.

12/ By spending bitcoin you are signaling to the merchants/sellers that bitcoin works and they should support it more.

13/ If you do spend-and-replace (or use something like Strike), then with each purchase you are adding more value to the bitcoin economy. Bigger bitcoin economy increases the value of bitcoin.

The common practice is that the developer receives base pay, annual bonus and equity in Block stock often via some form of RSU.

Amazing! Have you added them to btcmap.org?

Also one thing I was thinking these shops could use is to have a quick printed tutorial for how to set up and use lightning wallet. Like when a customer asks the person working there "what is this Bitcoin thing? how do I use it here?", then it would be great if it's really easy and streamlined to get the customer setup. Maybe even the place could send them like 5000 sats in exchange for cash.

I assumed banana bread dude's take as the core of my believes on what's good and what's bad. All my internal philosophy and rationalizations are based upon this.

Why? I have been here since 2021.

I think that's fair, but I also think that any solution that reduces the problem in any part of the stack is worth doing. Defensive clients, ML models, filtering relays, good Media servers, easy ways to report csam, Web of trust solutions, etc.

It's horrible when that happens 😞 I'm happy to report I haven't seen any content like that since I joined nostr in

The way nostr works currently is you won't see csam content on your timeline where you only have people you follow. If the client you use is done well you should not see csam in comments either.

Hashtags are much riskier as well as Global.

Does it also set up the games and connect them to the same account, etc?

Agreed, I'm surprised by the push for cashu. Cashu may add nicer onboarding into lightning, but we need better self custody experiences.

Imo we are one leap away from having it. Phoenix connects to a single LSP and is locked to the LSP. If there would be an intuitive way to migrate the channel to another LSP in the case Acinq goes down, then we have a fully self custodial lightning with great experience.

My point is that you could make this way more convincing if you actually understood either the physics and electricity and/or the gothic architecture terminology. You are not too good at this.

Forgotten F1 Friday drivers: Whatever happened to these FP1 guest runners?

https://media.formula1.com/image/upload/fom-website/2025/Miscellaneous/FP1%20drivers%20feature/Formula%201%20header%20template%20(30)

For over two decades Formula 1 teams have used Friday practice sessions to field non-race drivers, with new regulations in 2022 mandating the use of rookies during two practice sessions annually, a rule expanded to four sessions from 2025.
