wait, i just realised... your phone was unlocked and not under your control, right?

i already changed mine to cape verde time. no summer clock, and the same actual 15 degree arc that madeira is in.

this place is mental, a full timezone west of portugal but on the same time zone.

when you see children arriving at the school across the road just after dawn, it's quite a sight for someone used to the dawn being at least 90 minutes before at the winter solstice.

hooray for the perversion of ambiguous fonts.

the rainy season in Madeira is living up to my expectations and hopes for it in every way.

in the summer half of the year, everyone is loud and busy, this rain calms them all down.

the energy here is too intense in summer, for me, makes me want to spend all my time up in the mountain away from them.

oh yeah, and then there is pruning bitcoin core... not hard to set that up with like say 8gb pruned storage limit.

that's gotta be what the hype is about.

pfft. lol. yeah, ok, running bitcoind inside LXC. woop woop.

New nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5 Beta allows you to open a node on your phone. Can even do a custom lightning address πŸ‘

it sounds like zap desktop on phone. but cln i guess? could just as easily be lnd/neutrino as acinq/cln and electrum.

one of the biggest problems that happens in software development, and can be extreme with open source, is that a system gets too complicated and bloated to be usable.

the linux kernel, git, bitcoin, btcd, just a few of the projects i can name that have blown up so large that they are beyond the scale that would allow them to be reimplemented properly in other, perhaps more modern, or more suitable languages.

something that i thought of as part of a solution for this a long time ago was to chip apart a project into as small pieces as possible while still maintaining a utility.

bitcoin, for example, you could easily see a use for a simple block replicator. All it does is validate blocks are correct, make them available by their hash on the p2p network, but the node doesn't need to validate them beyond checking their hashes. this is done by full nodes anyhow, but a node that can deliver blocks is still useful on the network, and would be far easier to build schemes to rapidly replicate the chain data from one location to another, as it only concerns itself with one layer of the protocol.

it's something i intend to spend my time doing in the future.

as a low level programmer, it is hard to be heard or seen by the majority of users, and thus starved of access to funding for this work.

the solution is in making small numerous, and simple tools that are useful for other developers.

i might just be abnormally sensitive but when i feel like my blood is doing something weird i start moving the body part around, massaging it, changing its orientation, and so on.

the thing about a heart attack that can kill you is the pressure, so for sure laying down and breathing slowly will help.

honestly, it seems to me that you have to be half anaesthetised to have these things happen 'suddenly'. either that or a loose clod of something suddenly jams up a valve somewhere. having that kind of congestion would hurt like hell before even the chunk falls off and clogs something i would think.

by the way, main cause of it is cholesterols synthesised out of excess blood sugar.
