I believe that becomes relevant when nostr gains more traction. Iโm trying to imagine how it can be gamified. nostr:npub1sdxqk57gkvlq44g0c3fyuy0s2p4vvnld90nk98nf2ykf6td8gd5shm9mw4 was doing a thread with ever increasing PoW requirements just for fun.
fun is the main word in this. i'm not a dedicated expert on the subject of PoW but it's one of the things about Bitcoin that gives it that zero to one element.
i've personally worked on a proof hash function that leverages long division units in 64 bit CPUs and i know of Chia and Spacemesh (and old eth) also adding large data storage limiters to the schemes but unless the supply of miner hardware is scarce, hard to manufacture, has a lot of competion for this use case (long division vs cpu/gpus is this), and the most important thing, not possible to suddenly unleash a large amount of hash power on the network without a long lead time scaling up then they are all doomed to failure.
so this thing is an idle amusement based on what i know PoW and its market mechanics.
if it is worth something, and someone can enter this with a large amount of resources and take control of the leaderboard it will be.
i just see a half baked antispam measure.
the camera is for the in person, POS use case (point of sale ofc).
The fact that you canโt send sats without giving Wallet of Satoshi camera control is a big ๐ฉ

it can send without camera. it can use clipboard instead, as well as username@domain things.
bulldog terriers are the best companions for a household, a neverending circus and cuddle fest.
for anyone who is serious about tech the hubris filled ramblings of a bunch of jumped up web developers is quite comical. guys who are clearly exploiting the "trending" algorithm that is the default and what every user first sees, to brag about how l33t they are is tragic.
they don't care about the actual tech making it into anything like a late beta let alone release grade.
the world needs more computer scientists and language scholars.
does the NIP exist at all for the mechanism by which relays figure out what they have and what they need to ask for?
how is nostr going to get adoption without being able to cope with a large userbase, while not resulting in relays turning into clusters on AWS and nothing new achieved?
as far as i know, iris.to has early support for FOREST annotations that is transparently compatible with standard notes.
LSP technology is definitely somewhere in early beta phase if you ask me.
people who promote adoption of technology that isn't mature yet are sending people off to do this and what do you think their sentiments towards such heralds is after this?
it's not really anything new to me as a long time early adopter of tech but those sats disappearing and/or getting stuck for long periods of time stings more than updating your kernel, again, and getting no GUI, again, because canonical are a bunch of tards.
the very same problem is at play with nostr as well. the tech is way too immature for mass adoption, and yet the constant beating of the drums by influencoors to adopt this new tech, when it's not ready for daily usage.
either you are ok with people starting with WoS and Alby for LN adoption, or you are driving new users out who are not going to come back so quickly, nor are they going to recommend it to their friends.
LN has reached a certain level where it is generally usable but until the synchrony problem is solved it's a hard sell with buggy, and multivariate LSP development efforts going on in 4 different directions at once and all of them fucking up in different ways.
i went there as soon as i learned there was a linux desktop version. and to boot, there's a CLI version but it's a bit buggy on my terminals when i type up to the edge of the screen.
it's a sin to commit suicide and it's a sin to comfort evil so one has the obligation to hope for finding a way to spend one's time doing something righteous.
that can be difficult, and that's why it's important to remember at the end of it the bad guys are getting a day in court with an infallible judge.

I cant find your git repo to look into fixing this and some other minor stuff
also, they can't spell:
The internet is changing. We have shifted from the open frontier of "The Network" to a series of walled gardens hording userdata to best monatize thier engagment. Nostr breaks down these walls, you data follows you wherever you decide to go.
what is 'hording' xD and 'monatize'...
