i think the problem is that if it's cheaper to produce the PoW at scale, it will be taken over by spammers, is all. used to promote influencoors, for example.
we already have a big enough problem that by default instead of 'newest' all nostr apps are ranking prominence by engagement, which is a self-fulfilling prophecy, and boring af, when these people who have risen to the top know the many simple ways to keep people engaged, and mostly that's by acting like twats.
burning is fiat mind. bitcoin is too scarce to use this mechanic anyway.
really, i think that if all messages cost a sat or two at least to store for x period of time that would be a boon for relay operators and there could be rankings for higher spend posts, and relays competing to be the most connected to the most spendy users and their userbase.
toilet business needs more discussion in the public arena for sure. mostly everyone is assumed to know what they are supposed to be doing but actually many do not, nor do they have any framework for understanding why they should want things a certain way.
like hygiene, like comfort, like wtf is up with crappers, the south park episode was great about the subject. there needs to be more open discussion about excrement and urination for sure.
although i doubt you will be so amused to hear how girls see it. altho some have a fetish with that stuff.
teh word "repository" is awesome.
it is from the word "repose"
"he sitteth in a most languid repose"
it basically means "chilling out".
but one that doesn't scale or disfavour spammers.
y not lightning payments for proof of spend?
i think the biggest headwind for bitcoin currently is the acute liveness requirement of the lightning network. it is only mildly annoying to have to retry a payment occasionally but not being able to receive without custodians is a major downer.
it's something for which i can see the logic of a client that merges chaumian ecash with LSP based self custody.

it's so beta the landing page's first paragraph has 3 typos in it.
imma look at that, thanks. so far every bit of his code i have seen has been pretty unimpressive.
like Bitcoin lol.
or if your name is Dan Larimer and you are tarded.
lines should be joined into a paragraph unless there is two line breaks.
probably amethyst's renderer is some kooky flavor of markdown.
i even own a licence for a nice WYSIWYG markdown editor called Typora, and it's default is to respect the line length and not join/wrap lines with only one line break between together into a paragraph.
it annoys the piss out of me because it's a WRAWWNNG default.
who even needs to edit them to see them this way anyway? isn't this part of the purpose of markdown: to make text flow look good everywhere???
i've never understood why everyone doesn't just use the github flavor and make life easier for everyone since it's the most used renderer for the format.
or for that matter why note type 1 isn't markdown. it doesn't affect people who don't know it!
this afternoon i am working on a deployment of the #strfry codebase and as i wait close to 8 minutes for it to build (C++) i'm reminded of why Ken Thompson, Rob Pike and Robert Griesemer developed the Go language.
and also this xkcd:

as i sit here idling shitposting on nostr.
i'm not exceptionally intelligent
i just don't let my brain get filled with bullshit, so i have more storage available.
wild foods have a small and growing fanbase. this is an artifact proving it's enough to sell mostly garbage seed oil fried shredded tubers.
>Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

is there a nostr client that renders this markdown?
i'd also add to it that since i want to encompass as much of the world as i can in my mind, lies are a double version of information that take up space, along with all the justifications for this double storage to even exist.
people are stupider because they consciously accept lies that they know are lies.

i'm one of the rare people in the world who don't think that it's "not cool" to write indepth trace logging so i doubt you'll find anything that you can just flip a toggle and have it do what you want at least just for your visual appreciation.
that would be nice. i'm a humble programmer/protocol designer who has been living on a small sponsorship stipend for the last year, certainly no substantial opportunity to acquire enough sats to open a channel, and i'm skeptical that i could break even doing it anyway.
