As someone who would like to see the federal government in the US shrunk dramatically, I believe a strategic bitcoin reserve accumulated via a mechanism like Bit Bonds is the only viable path to make a smaller government possible.

This may seem counterintuitive - "if the US government acquires bitcoin it makes them stronger." However, when you take a step back and think of the problem of the ever expanding federal government you realize that a large part of the problem is driven by the need to roll over debt by issuing new debt to pay it back.

This leads to a forced expansion of the federal government that can only be reversed if something new is introduced that can defease the debt without having to issue new paper. As it stands today, bitcoin is the only thing that can practically produce this defeasment.

The beauty of the bit bond idea is that it expedites the debt pay back by enabling the Tresury to issue longer-term bonds at lower rates, which works to decrease interest payments on debt that is being rolled over. An incredible kickstarting mechanism that provides immediate results. Imagine being able to point at the chart of the interest expense on the debt and show that the number is falling.

Bitcoin is for anyone, including governments, and it is a great asset that enables individuals, businesses and governments to think creatively by leveraging the benefits that come with adopting it during its monetization phase.

The path to shrinking the federal government dramatically over the next few decades only exists in a world in which the government adopts bitcoin as a strategic asset to begin paying back the debt.

Bitcoin is the only way to establish self-sovereignty away from the governments, yet many people just care about getting rich in this cycle with the help of the government, shortchanging freedom for FIAT.

Fuck the government and its slaves and masters.

Americans will experience AGAIN a 1933 style seizure.

Well done. I saved this for inspiration (except the ads) ✌️😊🤙❤️🧡💜💛

2 melons US$7.5… wtf! Central American Bitcoin colonies are such a put off.

Oxymoron: ‘Trading Bitcoin’.

I just read the EO for the reserve and honestly it sounds fantastic. I don’t know what everyone is frowning upon.

The fact that that is no buying happening is probably a good thing since this is being put into a single basket with shitcoins. You don’t want the public to get angry (rightfully) for utilizing tax payer money to buy shitcoins. That would be a PR disaster for bitcoin by mere association.

This is like the first time we have had any positive press from the White House that paints bitcoin in positive light and that is huge. I’m actually glad they are not going to buy any further bitcoin at the moment because I don’t want them to have any. This gives us more time to stack, for natural adoption to take place to hopefully severely limit the available bitcoin for the reserve, should the time come to buy.

It’s unlikely congress would approve of any such spending anyway, so it’s weird that bitcoiners expected there to buy purchasing going on. Though, this EO DOES spell out that there will be a review of strategies to acquire more:

“(c)  The Secretary of the Treasury and the Secretary of Commerce shall develop strategies for acquiring additional Government BTC provided that such strategies are budget neutral and do not impose incremental costs on United States taxpayers.”

This is the correct path I believe, unless that acquisition involves civil forfeiture (which it could… and I don’t think anyone would be happy with that).

The government is the BIGGEST SCAM by far. Expect a 1933 style seizure on your BTC.

Bitcoin doesn’t care. Also, Trump 2.0 is very much like Trump 1.0, meaning shot-term market destabilisation followed by market manipulation to make it look it’s going higher.

Have patience, stay lean, exiting to FIAT is never a good option. Short-term ‘bitcoiners’ really don’t understand Bitcoin.

Freedom and Bitcoin ✌️😊🤙❤️🧡💜💛

How so, I don’t follow X anymore? What’s the sentiment? 😂😂😂

Long live freedom ✌️😊🤙❤️🧡💜💛

gm, Bitcoin is Truth.

If you've been part of any group effort, you've seen it - as the group generates and grows value, complexity doesn’t just rise - it explodes. Far faster than the value itself. Eventually, questions emerge: Who contributed what? Who deserves how much?

At certain levels of complexity, the same patterns repeat. Any effort that generates significant value will reach a stage where some members will be labeled stupid, lazy, evil, irrelevant. Not by accident, but as a tactic - a way to justify redistributing equity to those seeking to further elevate themselves. The only question is: at what level will this happen? Tens of thousands? Millions? Billions?

But it will always happen. And it will keep happening. When people face the choice between acknowledging that you earned a million or keeping it for themselves, the vast majority will “discover” a truth in which that million rightfully belongs to them.

Look at recent events through this lens. Milei continuing to shill endless shitcoin scams. Trump's team launching $TRUMP memecoin, only to be rugged by another team launching $MELANIA. Insiders printing trillions, funneling it through USAID and the CFPB, just to hand it back to themselves under the guise of serving the people.

The future doesn’t hold less of this - it holds more. Governments will level up money printing to feed the growing political class, under the noble guise of caring for the common folk. Armies of Hawk Tuah girls and Dave Portnoy boys will keep launching scams, hacking ways to make the value you create flow to them. At some point, they won’t even have to try - AI will generate infinite content in their likeness; justify their actions and price, shill the next memecoin, mint the next grift.

And the only thing standing between you and those who would steal the value you create - will be Bitcoin.

I really like your thoughts... and IMO evidence of what you just said is so deeply entrenched in humans. People have a tendency to justify stealing, grifting, lying, cheating, etc. using false paradigms such us: 'if everyone does it, why not me', 'I've been hurt/cheated on/lied to/etc., I don't feel sorry for it, if I do it once', 'the system sucks, therefore I steal/lie/cheat, etc.', 'I'm only scamming really stupid people, they're so stupid they deserve to be scammed' and SO MANY MORE. Such behaviours are encouraged implicitly and explicitly by corrupted and criminal politicians, business people, celebrities, etc. that it is SO HARD to find the TRUE NORTH and keep sailing steady towards it. I don't know if Bitcoin is the solution to all of this, I don't know even if there is a solution. What I do experience is that, transitioning completely from the FIAT clown world to a decentralised permissionless life is lonely but empowering and peaceful. I don't mind loneliness, it's up to me to change it. On the contrary, I have never felt happier and at peace, knowing that I totally rely on myself having stepped out of those paradigms that where hindering my efforts to progress on the path of becoming my best self. For me, Bitcoin is Freedom, and however it ends, if it ever ends, it would have been worth it to be ALL IN. Long Live Freedom!✌️ 😊 🤙 ❤️ 🧡 💜 💛
