Iām in Adelaide! As long as you are using 915Mhz and the LongFast channel you should see some other nodes! We have quite good coverage around a lot of the suburbs.
I bought the 8 litre Instant Pot so the capacity actually isnāt too bad. Itās not that much smaller than the largest pot I currently have for the stove anyway. I also want to try other things like braised beef and lamb shanks in the pressure cooker.
I plan on a bit of both. I started drinking some bone broth a couple of months ago when I was sick with the flu but also use it for cooking. I sometimes do things like braised beef ribs in bone broth for example.
First attempt at making my own beef bone broth. I had been wanting to try this for a while but wasnāt keen on leaving a pot on the gas stove for 24-48 hours. I started looking into the option of using a slow cooker but then discovered that it was also possible to make a successful broth in a pressure cooker. There seems to be some debate around whether some nutrients are lost using this method due to the higher temperatures or if it actually preserves nutrients due to the shorter cooking time, but either way it is probably better than a lot of store bought options.
This was the result of 4 hours cooking a mix of grass fed beef bones in the pressure cooker. It tastes pretty good and after refrigeration it came out very thick and gelatinous. Overall Iām happy with this for a first attempt.

Updated version of Olas now seems to be available on TestFlight! Looks nice from a quick test with my test account.

I didnāt watch it myself but I did check a few times and had no buffering issues at all. That was being served from Netflix caches hosted by the ISP and I know there were no other congestion issues within the ISP :)
Iāve seen some discussion elsewhere though that some ISPs hosting Netflix caches were seeing all ports on those caches maxed out which would have resulted in buffering for users. They probably need more caches or Netflix needs to better direct users to caches with capacity (Iām not entirely sure how they are doing that). Other ISPs just didnāt have the spare capacity in their networks to handle it.
We were sort of lucky here in Australia because it was on a Saturday afternoon so itās not a time when there is a lot of traffic from business customers and it isnāt at the usual residential night time peak.
This gives an idea of the spike in Netflix traffic that was being seen on peering exchanges yesterday. Iām not sure if Megaport host Netflix caches or if this is from peering with Netflix but it was a big spike!

Get well soon.
A lot of ISPs donāt engineer their networks for this sort of sudden burst of traffic, especially from sources like Netflix which are generally fairly constant. Iāll have to check the graphs later but at the start of the live broadcast the company I work for was seeing almost double the usual traffic across the Netflix caches.
I could not care less about a fight but as a network engineer the Netflix issues do interest me. Netflix runs distributed edge servers within many ISPs and peering exchange so content is served fairly locally. ISPs will be seeing a huge spike in traffic from these edge servers so some of the issues people are experiencing are likely congestion at the ISP level rather than Netflix.
They look great! I have the original T-Deck and donāt really need any more Meshtastic devices but I still want one of these!
But that means I would have to use Android! š
I see people mention this but I donāt seem to get any of these DMs.. Iāve had DMs from a couple of impersonators a while ago but not much other spam.
There is now an app for #AUStriches to log their farts 𤣠
This is me pretty much every time Iāve tried Android.. I want to like it, but always end up back on the iPhone.. I have a couple of almost unused Android devices lying around from this.. š¤£š¤£š¤£
