Hey Ivy, let’s chat about it! DM me and we’ll get a convo going. Let’s get your partner ready to rock ‘n’ roll.

Will do thank you 🪐

My partner is a web developer and designer and I’ve been trying to get him involved in Nostr - but as he was signing up and going through all the flow there is a lot of friction. How can we help? Are there any other developers involved with Nostr in the Southern California area. We would love to set up a meetup to talk it over. I operate on vibes and for some reason even though I am new here I feel compelled to help.

I am a photographer who would rather play in a dark wave synth band. Your turn.

I want to stay in the loop with your question. 🪐

I like label on the bottom. All caps espresso. It feels more like a crafted product.

After being here on Damus a few days, I feel like I need to get this Bitcoin thing out of the way. I’ll keep it brief. I got into Bitcoin in 2016 after a web dev friend mentioned it.

As soon as I heard about it, I understood the potential. Ultimately though, I’m big on vibes and Bitcoin just made so much sense.

A little later in 2017, my business partner and I bought a laundromat in Echo Park, LA. We had a lot of ideas for this place - much more than a laundromat for sure. I immediately pushed for us to accept Bitcoin as payment, so we did. I was really proud of that—it felt important, like we were becoming a part of something bigger. But it wasn’t easy. We had to explain what it was to everyone, and some people thought we were being elitist. “WTF is Bitcoin?” blah blah blah…  I get it — we were trying to do too much at once, not just with Bitcoin but with the whole concept of this laundromat.

(I often express myself with songs so of course I have a playlist that I played there at the laundromat on the daily, if you are interested, I will share it with you - for once I can see why people ask questions like this one - perhaps this is a ridiculous story to you lol.)

Anyway in the end, it didn’t work out. We sold the place at a loss a year later. (Still not ready to get into the details of that.)

People always ask me if I’d recommend buying a laundromat as an investment. My short answer? NO.

So, Maxis—what’s your Bitcoin origin story?

I wonder how Satoshi is feeling today? Sending hugs. #grownostr

I will post more thoughts on here once I see my face on my profile. I’ve uploaded it a couple of times but it doesn’t seem to stick.

Looking for thoughtful friends.
