nostr:npub1aghreq2dpz3h3799hrawev5gf5zc2kt4ch9ykhp9utt0jd3gdu2qtlmhct I think that I'm going to install your overlay onto my #Debian #Linux server, because besides the most basic stuff ( #Syncthing and #Tailscale come to mind) I can't seem to achieve anything I want ( #Nextcloud and #Immich for example). So hopefully this'll get me going βοΈπ

nostr:npub18yvpnchj7yaepjk8yz2pn66hfmmup505aqvx0lpyc3aree0g5fyq8clpz3 maybe if we started calling the singular `octopussy`, then the debate will stop because the plural would become `octopussies` π«£
I've used Gnome Shell in the 3.x era and I quite liked it, but it became a bit heavy in my experience. After trying out some desktop environment, I found a new home in Budgie on Solus.
Last year I really tried out Icewm and it is a great lightweight DE, however I couldn't find any plans for it to switch to Wayland (or at least not in the foreseeable future) so when I heard Budgie will use Xfce stuff (specifically the libxfce4windowing library) to transition to WaylandΒΉ I'm kind of glad.
It is a fairly lightweight DE with their default layout akin to pre-Windows 11/Cinnamon but customisable to become completely different if you want it. But knowing me I'll keep looking at more lightweight options when they come around, but my biggest "requirement" is that it should be transitioning/have transitioned Wayland (or be native to it even). And I like the Windows layout βοΈπ
Sweet, why did you go with Cinnamon? Is it your first desktop environment?
Just curious but why did you switch from Mate to Xfce? Is it because they are more progressive in their Wayland transition?
The formal Dutch word for walkie talkie is "portofoon" which is short for "portable telephone/draagbare telefoon".
What distro are you using? I'm currently using #NixOS with the #BudgieDesktop

The game is Uno and originally it is a "draw 4 cards" card, but they changed it with a marker and later again with Photoshop to the text you can read. And I didn't check, but at least it seems that the person drew 25 cards because he didn't want to return to Twitter/weapon X βοΈπ
Overview of Memories Advanced Photo Management Suite that installs inside Nextcloud

Memories is a fast, modern and advanced photo management suite, that installs quickly and easily inside Nextcloud. My video contrasts it with the Photos app that comes with Nextcloud, and highlights some reasons why you may want to use it instead of Photos. This app has face, object, landmark, place, and human action recognition capability through the Recognise app. It's not that obvious, but albums can be shared, and photos commented on, with other Nextcloud registered users using the underlying Nextcloud file commenting system.
Memories is a great way to collaborate and share photos privately with friends and family, and even to share public links to some of your albums. It can even work on a Raspberry Pi hosted in the home.
It also has apps for iOS and Android, which can optionally auto-upload photos into Memories.
By saving/reading titles and descriptions into the photo's EXIF headers means that importing or exporting out of Memories is a lot less of a chore with migrating between photo services.

Something I want to try out, after getting Nextcloud installed.
At least Nextcloud has a reputation of reliable syncing data, which can't be said for Immich π
ssh; secure shell (self explanatory imo).
tmux a; which is run richt after ssh, which is a continuation of your precious session (even if you don't use split panels or extra windows, it's a life saver).
micro; text document editor.
bat; modernised version of cat (though cat still has is purposes).
rsync (with -av flags); replacement for cp.
