Are you saying your progression went Nostr then Bitcoin? That is interesting if that is the case. At this point, I’m guessing the majority of people using the Nostr protocol were into Bitcoin first.
My toddler just learned to count and it is a lot similar to how I count beers “two two two two”
I’ve given up on that conversation.
My two year old took like a 4 hour nap today. Tonight will be interesting.
Well obviously Nostr is only worse because our glorious fearless leaders can’t protect us from conspiracy theories here.
My standard of living went up after completely removing windows.
Tried it once. Did not end well.
Is your script open source?
That was lots of fun. It was first time I’ve used any of these image creation tools. And one thing is for sure, the winning images were substantially better than the weird shit I generated.
If you do a lesson on settling up a wallet and sending/receiving that might be a good time to introduce them to nostr:npub18d4r6wanxkyrdfjdrjqzj2ukua5cas669ew2g5w7lf4a8te7awzqey6lt3 . But really stress that there is no single mempool and that mempool.space is just one of many. When you send a transaction as part of your lesson do one that doesn’t have high enough transaction, one that is low and one that is high so they can see how that all pans out.
Maybe could do a small lab experiment where students write a script to brute force some type of private key. Could have them do a few different amounts of entropy that are feasible on their laptops. This would be the way to give them an idea of the size of the bitcoin private key space.
One last thing, I tell this to anybody who is interested, if you can do 10 miles at a 10 minute/mile pace you are probably physically fit enough to do a 100 KM. Mental toughness and will power is something you will have to find out on your own when you make the attempt.
You can do it! It helps to get something on your calendar to keep you motivated for training. I’m by no means an elite distance runner but I have finished five 100 mile trail runs and two 100 km runs in the past six years. And don’t get discouraged if you DNF an event I have done that a few times as well. Sometimes a finish is just not in the cards.
Here is my proof-of-work from this past weekend. It took me 21 hours 18 minutes to finish a 100 KM trail run. This proves I did the necessary training and preparation to complete the race. Sometimes I wonder what society would be like if we required something like an ultra marathon as a requirement for politicians to run for office. At the very least, it would keep these extremely old fucks from further running the country into the ground.
My recommendation is not necessarily FOSS, though some of the tech stack maybe open source. Synology makes some nice NAS type systems. Software they put on the systems are pretty well polished. They support android and iPhone apps that allow you to easily backup your phone’s camera activities. Like I said, not completely FOSS but a great alternative that would allow the less tech savvy to get away from relying/trusting Google with their family photos/videos.
Who wants to sign up for a Pfizer clinical trial? They will pay you 1,000,000 Sats to try out a new version of experimental gene therapy.
100 KM in 21 hours 18 minutes
Nice!

Feature request for the strike app. I’m guessing I wouldn’t be the first to request this. I’m looking for a setting to be able to use sats as the standard. I mainly want this in my notifications from the strike app but also wouldn’t hurt across the app. Could also give the option of milli-Bitcoins for the psychopaths out there.
Note this screenshot where someone on nostr zapped me 10 sats but the notification leaves off the last zero. nostr:npub1ex7mdykw786qxvmtuls208uyxmn0hse95rfwsarvfde5yg6wy7jq6qvyt9 nostr:npub1cn4t4cd78nm900qc2hhqte5aa8c9njm6qkfzw95tszufwcwtcnsq7g3vle
