Ledger is the worst. Good luck pointing out their flaws when their employees and documentation are... incorrect, at best.

Always better to create a new seed imo. Keep that attack surface as tiny as possible.
If they are encrypted with a key they cant access, how can I recover my funds in the case of a housefire where I lose everything?
Not an answer, but to add to the question,
either those two keys are enough to recover your funds, in which case they can be used to steal funds, or you need all 3 keys, in which case this isnt a backup at all. Either way, this seems as foolish as everything #ledger does.

Disabling text message support killed their flow. Having signal as my default app for all text was huge.
The more 'features' your wallet has, the worse it is.

your seed should never touch a general purpose computer, and should be considered compromised if it has.
Trezor. If you bought the first run ever made, your device still works. I do not believe any other company still supports their original projects. No seed extraction possible, etc...
