Yes. But we aren't talking about power, we are talking about a legit incentive to steal.
Why are your panties in a bunch? Who are you fighting here?
nostr:npub1uwh0m2y8y5489nhr27xn8vkumy8flefm30kkx3l0tcn0wss34kaszyfqu7 brings up a very legitimate point that those coins were collected via civil and criminal forfiture (aka stolen) from the very people Trump was saying were unjustly prosecuted by the previous administration.
I think an SBR is a net positive move for the country. But that opinion can also exist simultaneously with disgust at how that SBR was obtained.
Learn some nuance, son.
A bitcoin reserve, much like a full gold reserve would absolutely be better for certain aspects of the government than their insane fiat ponzi.
Had they done it with tax money, or tariffs, or hell, even the funds we stolen from Putin that would be better than doing it from the backs of their own citizens illegally.
The problem is that is will continue to appreciate in dollar terms, and when this guy is gone, someone will likely sell it, or raid it, or give it to Social Security, or something else. They won't stop printing money and selling bonds. Not even if they had 50T in bitcoin sitting there.
The US Constitution in no way allows for the government to steal your property permanently that may have been in some way used for a crime. To cheer it on is absolutely bonkers.
I have been fighting at the local and state level for a decade against allowing police to steal from its citizens and then fund their operations, new tanks, guns, etc..
Finally, 2 years ago we were able to severely limit the types and ways a CAF can happen here. While nowhere near as restrictive as it should be, its a start.
I believe the USG now has the best incentive of all times to steal more, all while claiming 'public safety', 'terroism', and on and on. Its like a wet dream for the patriot act bros.
huh? Wait, you think I am crying because I don't like the fact that the US government, and possibly soon state governments have now a huge incentive to steal from their citizens?
Dude. We are not the same.
So is the trump shitcoin summit worth watching or not?
#asknostr
I noticed the CEO of Bitcoin was not there....
There is nothing to be excited for. Encouraging and cheering for the government to keep stolen money in a fund is disgusting and completely opposite of what bitcoiners should be doing.
Why would it be compromised?
No, it isn't.
I wish they didn't.
Much like police do to get new equipment, if it becomes popular and successful, it will give them an incentive to steal more and more.
I feel disgusted and furious it is stolen coins, not strange.
And it only took him 37 years playing to get there. Lol.
I mean it's crazy, but let's be real, if MJ started that young, and ppl layed as long with today's nutritional science, he'd be at 60 or 70k pts.
Because it would change the world perception of Bitcoin forever. Governments, people, companies, etc .... Overnight change the way they think of it. Forget the fact the usg holds it or whatever.
... I just want to press his buttons
Elon Musk Says Amtrak, US Postal Service Should Be Privatized

#Zap to support, DM to suggest new feeds.
The US postal service is essentially private. Federal money doesn't pay for it, big congress has a day in regulating it. Just remove congressional oversight, done.
Huh? Nothing about what I said has anything to do with price. It is a company(love em or hate em), that is using their money and profits from tether, to invest in Bitcoin, new use cases, and adoption by the masses.
That is literally the goal of anyone who believes in a Bitcoin future.
I'm not sure how else someone can take that but good.
The world is a disaster. Japan, China, Germany, the rest of the EU, mexico and Canada with tariffs issues. There is no good news anywhere in developed nations.
True story.
But their shift towards Bitcoin has been quite interesting. With the purchasing, buying tumble and using Bitcoin their, El Salvador, and usdt over Bitcoin soon.
