I did some digging and here’s what I found: prior to 1958 the price for a single classic Bic pen or one of its competitors was $1 to $80 but Bic bought a ton of it’s competition and reduced the price to about 50¢ in 1958.
In 1969 the most expensive Bic pen was 49¢ and the best seller was 19¢.
By early 2000’s it was ranging from 25-50¢ and today you can get one for 15-50¢ depending on how big a package and what the retailer is offering.
