Be the mirror

I think things are going to get worse before they get better. Read the tea leaves, gas vehicle owners will be punished worse and worse even if your favorite politician gets elected. Don't depend on the electric grid either, hedge against inflation with debt by financing solar. I've coyote swapped a mustang, I've spent a year racing at autocross, I've rebuild the heads of a 3000gt in a parking lot, I enjoy formula 1 and rally, I like cars too, but to all the people saying "what happens when the grid goes down?", ask yourself if the gas stations will still be working. Good luck and try to hold on, I don't want fellow freedom lovers getting screwed like the fine people of Appalachia, you know the direction they are taking things so play it to your advantage and don't get caught in the churn.

Yea, the land beyond my property line is an untamable jungle, I'm down with supporting the ecosystem and all but I'll put anything on the lawn that doesn't poison the dogs at this point.

They want back pay for people who weren't hired? "Pay me for not working!"

Not sure where to jump in so I'll do it at the top. I think you raise a lot of good points, I try to direct my zaps to mostly people writing code with a little bit for the best memes (because I think we need to seed our ideas culturally to keep making progress). That said its not a whole lot, its hard for me to justify just randomly zapping around, at every post I read.

I think we need something like, finished consumer products and services being delivered via nostr to actually drive the economy here. I don't think merch does it, I'm not buying a fucking sticker, and you'll have to seriously impress me to buy art because I have limited wall space and its mostly filled with tightly selected stuff (theme, color palette, medium), and I don't think most people even care about stuff. I can't even justify paying for a podcast or someone's take on where we are going, macro, politics etc. because I genuinely think they are all toolbags that think they are the wrench.

I'd pay someone in sats for high quality food like free range eggs and bacon, I'd pay someone in sats to render cleaning or lawn care services, I'd even zap peter McCormick if he'd just post some clips from his football team. I'll say, we need some very creative people to make soverignity and freedom cool, like system of a down and rage against the machine back in the early 2000's cool, I just havent seen it yet.

I think to make up for the shortcomings in the near term, we need to make relay operation cheaper, and I think that looks like scaling solutions, and to sound like a broken record we need to integrate keet.io to take the burden off relays. We need to turn nostr into a handshake and use other protocols to bypass relays after the handshake is made. Lower cost relays -> higher profit margins -> stabilized economy that isn't having the lifeblood sucked out of it by AWS.

There are many things that have changed about the world since the last time we were in a (let's call it) hyper-gold-ized world, so I think its fair to say that. There are things that are a bit more predictable though, like the trend in home and education costs. Take a look at this chart, its the time price (how long the average or median worker spends working to make enough) for various goods, notice the correlation of goods that are heavily regulated or require large amounts of financing.

Well, even the graphite moderation wasn't a single point of failure on Chernobyl, I think the tipped their rods with graphite so as they SCRAMd the reactor they had a sudden jump in SUR as the control rods shot into the core. They should have been using stainless as a happy medium between poison and water, preventing that.

Someone might need to run a beefy node to connect us all to then, so we can pull the current block height every time we post 🤔

Hmm, a conundrum, would you have a feature to link your own node?

1. It could be a waste if there's better ways to go about it, on the other hand if its effective and a battle tested way of building consensus then its not a waste.

2. Makes it easier to stick our fingers in and push some code on them I hope.

3. I'm not worried about a litecoin takeover, they could always copy our code anyways since we are so close so it can't be avoided, and its like worrying that a new copper mint will decrease peoples desire for gold. We are already breaching into the conscious of people as an alternative to the USD v. BRICS, I think we are past needing to worry about any other PoW token.

Well then yea its going to take a lot of people getting burned to understand it, like all their political/cultural leaders or a million people in 6 months as part of a huge crackdown.

We launched segwit on litecoin first as a testbed to see if it would be compatible with bitcoin, this seemed to have been a really smart move during the block size wars.

Who'd have seen that coming /s, I'm not going to believe it for a while, but its the fate of pawns so it was guaranteed to happen at some point as far as I was concerned.

I'm really appreciating the lack of algorithm on amethyst today. Its not that I don't think the platform might be more "engaging", but I'm not totally sure that's a good thing, and it certainly seems to be at the root of considerable drama. People game the algos on every social media very openly today and its gross, and its obvious they would game the algos here if there was one (i guess its already begun on primal). Attempts to stop this ultimately gross behavior are seen as even more gross because you are adding extra hoops to people that are just better at playing the game. Eh, its not worth it, I like my feed, I'll jump in global or conversations when I'm looking for more follows.

Eh, UTXO has other plans in mind 😈, I like my snology has because it consumes little power, I'd build this instead when I'm hosting AI.

Wow, the kid doesn't get a nice "no shitcoins inside" sticker too? I'd be mad
