Btw… You weren’t the only one who got retina scanning vibes from the old Verified Human name. 😂 Of course the idea itself is the exact opposite. It’s an inclusive invitation based relay (in the works) where the only criteria to get invited is to not be a spam bot. I devised it to respect anonymity above all else. Instead of using gov id (like FB) or swiping identity revealing credit cards (Twitter). NotaBot uses social proof of work and reputation to build a scalable web of trust. Identity actually doesn’t even play a role. It doesn’t matter who you are, only that you are not a spam bot.
So after some much appreciated feedback at Nostrica from people like #[5] and @Mills I decided to change the name to https://NotaBot.net (not a bot). I already had the domain, it sounds better, more to the point, etc. I also updated the home screen copy to address the value prop right away and added a more extensive write up on how it works.
Hope this clears things up, and that you and crew take a look at it with fresh eyes. Everybody is looking for novel ideas that leverage Nostr’s unique qualities, and I think this fits the bill. Hit me up with any questions. I love this project and I’m always happy to talk about it. 💜
Regarding whether nostr is a distraction from Bitcoin…
As an amateur permaculturalist, I understand the importance of soil, and I view Nostr as fertile soil in which Bitcoin can grow. We can finally take something that has only ever existed in an adversarial environment, and see how it blooms in an environment which nurtures it.
That’s what Nostriches are building 💜🧡

Which might make this the first app released that has maximum onboarding friction built in. Why? It’s the work part in social proof of work. And hard things are fun. Hard things are worth it. 🤷♂️
I will verify mutuals. HMU in the comments or DMs, or anybody in person at Nostrica. Today I’m wearing a black tshirt that says Appalachian Mountains on it. I’ll just search up your NIP5 and verify.
You only have to sign in to the app if you want to verify others. IOS users should use the Nostore extension for Safari. Web users should grab the nos2x extension.
