Oh boy. The UK National Crime Agency's latest Risk Assessment finds "cryptoassets are increasingly used to launder non-digital proceeds of crime" and names increased risks to children through end-to-end encryption.
The only problem: the assessment provides no concrete data to backup its claims and stands in direct contrast to industry findings.
You will be surveilled and you will be happy, even though we are terminally incapable of publicly demonstrating a need for increased surveillance at all.

Fedi fixes this.
This is a fantastic podcast episode on Walker’s The Bitcoin Podcast with Jeff Booth discussing attack vectors, what Fedi provides in scaling and privacy and Nostr.
It’s hard to express how excited and appreciative I am of the development of Nostr and now Fedi, on top of the profound enormity of Bitcoin in general.
The unprecedented ability for the world, and especially the unbanked and oppressed, to have access to uncensorable open-source, private, fee free (or near free) permissionless payments and chat gives me so much optimism for our future.
That said, there’s much work for us all to do in educating and onboarding people, before they fall into the surveillance control trap of CBDCs, but we are so much more enabled, than we were before these fantastic developments.
Unfortunately, a bit beyond my low-tech capabilities, but sounds like a good idea. 👍
Btw, thank you so much for what you’ve achieved to date and are doing. 🙏🏻
We are working on a bunch of new feeds at Primal. They will all be open source and exposed in a public feed marketplace (as DVMs). In addition, all Primal clients will support 3rd party feeds via the same mechanism. This already works great in Amethyst; nice work nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z.
If you have suggestions for feeds you'd like to see, let us know and we'll try to make them! 🫡
I’ve got two daughters 11 & 9 y.o.
While I’m not keen on them using social media at these ages, my oldest at 11 is starting to via Meta Messenger with her friend who has recently moved to Germany and her local friends.
How can we make Nostr a safer, more attractive alternative to the youth to use instead on the corporate Web2 platforms.
How can we create a wholesome Nostr for kids/teens?
All good. Cody just gave me one to try. Thanks though.
Thanks. I very much been a member for Derrick & John’s freedom cells for years. They both do great work.

So cute!
I watched a documentary that showed the poor woman that harvest the cashew nuts. Apparently the flesh that needs to be removed by hand is really acidic and burns away the flesh of their fingers. Unfortunately, due to the poverty they left with only two choices: starve, or peel cashew fruit for the nuts. Strikes me these ladies need some value for value. I bet they need Fedi too. I’m farrking excited about the freedom and privacy offered by Fedi and can’t wait to starting showing my local and wider NZ freedom communities how to use it.
Hey Ajax, I want to set up an Alby account, but need an invite code. Do you have one you can share with me? Cheers.
Have cocks moved in the last two millennia? Who knew they were where our abs now are. Weird, but cool. 😎
How dare they besmirch the good name of Anarchy!
I’ve got an alum stick. Much better.
I’d rather smell like a man than cover myself in poison. Good work on the posts, brother. 👍
Unfortunately, full of endocrine disrupting synthetic fragrances. 🤮
Bankify: Turn Cashu Mints into Lightning Wallets with NWC
Bankify is a highly experimental tool for turning any Cashu mint into a Lightning wallet with Nostr Wallet Connect (NWC) support.
While you were busy making fun of the UK for criminalizing free speech, the UN finalized its Cybercrime Convention which will overrule bank secrecy and criminalize hacking, whistleblowing, and security research.
The convention, which was finalized last friday, drastically expands government surveillance powers and enables the widespread sharing of personal data between UN member states.
The convention mandates the identification, tracing, confiscation and seizure of "proceeds of crime, property, equipment or other instrumentalities" and the collection of real-time traffic and content data on behalf of requesting member states.
It further mandates member states to establish criminal offences for "the concealment or disguise of the true nature, source, location, disposition, movement or ownership of or rights with respect to property" and "the conversion or transfer of property [...] for the purpose of concealing or disguising the illicit origin of the property" when committed intentionally.
As the Electronic Frontier Foundation explains, the convention includes "documents saved on personal computers or notes stored on digital devices. In essence, this means that private unshared thoughts and information are no longer safe. Authorities can compel the preservation, production, or seizure of any electronic data, potentially turning personal devices into spy vectors regardless of whether the information has been communicated".
While the treaty defers most articles to the governance of local laws, it states that states "shall not decline to act [...] on the ground of bank secrecy".

I think we all know who the actual criminals are.
