We got some good Eastern Red Cedars cut down today to be milled into some solid 6x6 posts for a project I’ll be doing soon. These trees were massive.
I usually don’t appreciate cutting down trees but the landowner wanted to clear some out to allow grass to grow for her horses.
Ceder is the preferred termination due to the increase in wildfires in our area.

All the loofas are peeled and seeded. Now I cut them open so they can lay flat. I folded them over and sewed them up into rectangle shapes. Here’s a few that I just finished. Hopefully the fam and friends love them.

Walking onion = Egyptian Walking Onion. The bulbs grow at the top tips of the greens in a cluster.
I let these all dry on the vine, but you can also harvest green and requires drying.
It was as a little difficult peeling the skin but apparently you can soak the in water and the skin comes off easier.
Peeled some loofas last night. I grew these and will be gifting them out for Christmas. 🎄
I spent most of my life thinking loofas grew in the sea 😂
