Hopefully in the next few years we see some affordable consumer-focused AI GPUs that allow people to train the ~400B parameter models locally.
Like nostr:npub1rtlqca8r6auyaw5n5h3l5422dm4sry5dzfee4696fqe8s6qgudks7djtfs I actually don’t suggest physically leaving the US. Why?
-It’s legally harder to speak freely elsewhere.
-It’s harder to retain means of physical defense elsewhere (guns, networked security systems, drones).
-The US is culturally diverse (you can find your clan here).
-Bitcoin works just as well in the US as anywhere.
-There are secessionist movements that could gain steam at any time.
Once being productive just means you have to pay your gains to the less productive, they used to build a wall to keep the productive in. Now they are enforcing taxes globally with exit taxes, global minimum tax (on corporations) and extradition treaties so that the IRS can arrest people pretty much anywhere. They’re trying to expand global minimum taxes to cover wealthy individuals. They want wealth and unrealized gains taxes. This is the modern “wall.” Bitcoin can keep you out if used well.

There comes a point when the tyranny is uncomfortable enough that it’s worth it. The American Revolution was essentially that. Not saying that the UK is at that point yet, and it varies widely person to person.
There’s a lot outside strength that’s important to improve or at least keep from degrading with age. Vo2max, balance, dexterity, agility, reflexes, speed. Sports hit pretty much all of those. Unfortunately I hate sports.
Ugh, hate plumbing. The pain I endure to stack harder. 😅
Many will probably do it. The idea of living in an open-air prison is popular in Western Europe.
I hope the tide shifts back to one where privacy is valued too. At least with open source software the tools are out there for when people, and hopefully businesses, want to use them.
Hope to see a robust federated ecash mint with globally distributed functionaries for things like this.
Gotta have something to point to as a “fix having been done” for when the administration takes heat on the economy tanking.

Of course they’re taking massive losses on VR - they’re pricing their headsets at a loss. Most other VR headsets are $1000+. I don’t think profitability was a goal for Meta’s Reality Labs. It’s to corner the VR headset market and put competitors out of business. https://www.pcgamer.com/hardware/vr-hardware/a-decade-after-buying-oculus-vr-metas-reality-labs-losses-are-spiralling-out-of-control-with-no-end-in-sight/
However if the economy tanks, so does the Harris campaign!

Open source laser hacking device.
“You take the chip off the crypto wallet, hit it with a laser at the right time, and it will just assume you have the PIN. It just jumps through the instructions and gives the key back.”
Other than Mutiny, is there any other Lightning wallet that integrates federated ecash?
