Intolerance does not equal confrentation. It has more to do with rejecting nihelism and not understanding and defending your own beliefs and values. Allowing your neighbor's dog to bark without you mentioning because you want your own dog to bark is not tolerance, this is a shared culture. If you stole your neighbor's dog in the middle of the night and drove it a thousand miles away in hopes he will never return, this is not standing on principals, its agression. If your neighborhood collectively does not want chickens, and someone with a different culture moves in and has chickens, now everyone is listening to roosters and dealing with rodents, the solution is not to kill the chickens or to force the person out, but its also not to tolerate it if it effects you. There are ways of dealing with minor problems that don't involve threats of violence and theft.

What good requires tolerance?

Tolerance is to tolerate evil; be it aggression, theft, abuse, lies, or anything else.

To be tolerant is to be a cowardly pushover.

Could not get #NixOS 23.11 to upgrade to the new 24.05 version. Was having issues with my 23.11 config not building and the troubleshooting was just piling up (fix something and the next thing would break). 🤷‍♂️ Decided to start from scratch. Once I see the changes in the new config hopefully I can just copy over config info from the old one and keep going.

Far easier than a Windows reinstall though. Finally figured out how to get experimental packages working along side stable ones, which is awesome. It was way easier than others made it out to be in some forums.

Went to an estate sale today to buy some furniture and came across this clock. Its an old wind up clock and I thought it would be nice to have on the wall.

well... I got home and found out this thing has 5 initials and dates on it. I assume they are from the previous owners

The earliest one is 1907... This thing is over 100 years old and still ticking 😀

Needless to say I love this thing now. it feels awesome to have something so old and that has been taken care of by so many people

So now its hanging on my wall. a 100 year old method of keeping time sitting right next to the most modern way of keeping time, the block clock 😀

Without "space", the narrative of space aliens, asteroids, a big bang, evolution, and mass atheism wouldn't be possible.

Now not only do we have NASA to 'research' space, 'send' people to the moon, and 'protect' us from asteroids, there is also a 'space force' which will protect against 'space aliens' and other threats while they show us laughably bad CGI as some sort of proof.

Problem is, they need LOTS of money to keep us safe.

Live in fear, so in the back of your mind there is always a small concern about being wiped out just like the 'dinosaurs' were.
