SATS FOR SYRUP SOLD OUT FOR 2025. PM to be on list for next year. If you bought this year you're already on the list.

I have made 3 international shipments so I am getting better at the paperwork. Big issue is the shipping cost. Let me know where you are. And how much you may want.. and I'll look up shipping to let you know.. My best fit box for international will actually fit 3 quarts. Getting between 1-3 quarts would work.

This year I am trying to send out in glass if you ask. It's a little more expensive for the jars and extra shipping. The syrup is the same and oh so good.

It may not be a lifetime supply after you taste it. Coffee, make homemade granola, drizzle on sweet potatoes or squash, put on ice cream, in milk, on oatmeal, glazed ham, and waffles/pancakes/French toast

I tried the fine maple syrup from nostr:npub172mu27r5yny0nnmvgjqwhx055dmsesrrx7j0p5d3pxagfx6xgxfsv75p3q today on some buttered biscuits. I warmed a sampling of the syrup in the microwave for about 15 seconds. A pleasant aroma that reminded me of caramel, the taste on the biscuit was sweet, and warm, a mild maple flavor you expect and dare I say a hint of smoke, which I liked. Trying the syrup alone I think I could confirm the slight smokey flavor. Not over bearing in the least but present and reminded me of sitting around a warm well breathing fire. I compared it to the artificial store bought corn syrup with maple flavoring we had in the pantry. And what it lacked was a gummy texture that coats your teeth from the artificial. On this closer taste comparison I noticed a further complexity in the Ohio Pure Maple Syrup that reminded me of a sip of bourbon. I payed in sats and shipping was prompt and quickly arrived by USPS. #foodstr #ohio #grownostr #food

Speaking of bourbon, my brother in law makes an Old Fashion, using maple syrup instead of simple syrup.

Check out my Sister Sarah's soaps as heard on nostr:npub1vwymuey3u7mf860ndrkw3r7dz30s0srg6tqmhtjzg7umtm6rn5eq2qzugd podcast Bitcoin And.... Wow. This made me go inside and have a spoonful of syrup. My syrup comes in batches and I don't blend like the big boys. I believe this came from batch 2 and was an Amber. 1st batch was light and vanilla, 4th is dark and heavy maple. I get mostly amber. You speak so well of it you must have a background in English or marketing.

Much better than I explain it.

People: how would you describe your maple syrup.

Me: it's good

BREAKING: SweetSats just got even SWEETER! 😋

Exactly one year since we made the first documented sale of Maple Syrup for Zaps⚡️to nostr:npub1arqu5qaydkt3sjlumyf95hykwj5x00gmat47glrh6n4wcmz7ap6qlskjdh on Nostr, we are ready for round two!

2024 Maple Season 🍁 is officially underway, and we are ready to share the sweetness with Nostriches everywhere! 👉 https://sweetsats.io/

We produce pure maple syrup from our sugar maples way up here in the far north (Maine). It’s only available in small quantities for a few months out of the year until we sell out, and is produced on our wood-fired evaporator right here at SweetSats global headquarters.

As always, Nostriches get 10% off their entire order with code ‘nostr’

📦 Shipping glass bottles of maple syrup and honey can be pricey, but remember– shipping costs for multiple bottles/jars is only slightly more expensive than singles and domestic shipping calculator maxes out at 69k sats, PLUS shipping on orders over 250k sats is FREE – So stack (sweetness) accordingly!

Love it. Here is my homemade evaporator in NW Ohio. It's a great hobby. I lost my helpers to basketball and indoor track. I'm tired this year. I do buckets and bags (homemade pvc holder on bag) and I like the Fiskars nostr:npub1sweetl0gskmka0n5qevt7v2wj9q56ntwkmaeywffw4ftaucmcakquhns6h at 52 yrs old this is my first year with a log splitter(got a free one) I was struggling to keep up with maple and heating house. This is my 3rd year of selling for btc, I was about 1/2 and 1/2 of online twitter/nostr sales and local farmers markets. Can't wait until an official online BTC farmers market with 2-300 vendors all in one place.

Maplesyrup 2024. I am sending out to Nostr this year before twitter. If you heard of this from nostr:npub1vwymuey3u7mf860ndrkw3r7dz30s0srg6tqmhtjzg7umtm6rn5eq2qzugd then let me know.. Pricing went up a couple bucks this year. Shipping is included.. I can also do glass mason jars of the pints and quarts, but it is $5 extr and may take a week.

1 qt. $27

2 qt. $47

3 qt. $68

1 half gal $45

2 half gal. $80

4 pt. $50

6 pt. $75

I am still in middle of season so you might not hear from me right away. I will get back to you over this next week.

Using a homemade reverse osmosis system to concentrate maple sap

https://v.nostr.build/K362.mp4

When I started making maple syrup, I only tapped a few trees and boiled off the water with propane. It was clear that continuing to use propane wouldn't scale but at the same time I didn't want to spend the time building a wood fired boiler or the money buying one. I had just started heating the house with wood via a rocket mass heater, so if I was going to prepare firewood it would be more valuable heating the house instead of boiling maple sap.

Ultimately, I found some plans to build an affordable reverse osmosis system which would concentrate the sap by removing most of the water before starting to boil.

I used it successfully for a couple years but I got greedy and left it out over night. It ended up freezing and was destroyed by the ice. I was reaching the limit of what I could process with it which was why I tried to run it overnight in order to keep up. This mistake, forced me to upgrade to the current system which should allow me to continue to scale the maple sugar making system here at the homestead.

Some things I want to clarify from the video, the filter can concentrate the sap from around 2 brix to about 6 brix and the pump uses ~45w of power. The actual energy cost to concentrate the sap will depend on the starting sugar content and temperature. So when I say 65 cents that is a very general figure. The biggest takeaway is that the filter if maintained properly will concentrate sap using much less energy than boiling. However, if the filter gets fouled (or frozen...) much of the cost savings are erased.

And here is the dipshit version.

Busy time. Not only is sap running but I got a half beef I will cut up. I only do it once a year so I'm not real fast.

Im lucky I grew up in area where this is possible.. if you're not look into local farmers or the @beefinitiative

Any guesses to which side is North and which is South? Broke a 5 day freeze today in NW Ohio. The sap ran for about 5 hrs on the thaw. Syrup coming soon.

And my first syrup is done. 1st gather/boil, I pulled a couple gallon last night. Left is new, right is what I got most of last year. I'll only get 3-5 gal. of really light syrup. Here is article from bascom maple on grades(my fav is dark and very dark) put a little in my coffee in my custom maple mug my sister made me for Christmas.

If someone can zap me a few sats I'll zap them back to see if strike works for me for zaps.

Looking for information. I had Wallet of Satoshi for zaps on Amethyst. Now that it's out of US what can I use? I don't have my own lightning node yet. ( 1 yr plan) I have muun strike and breeze but their lightning addresses time out. I tried Alby but they are invitation only right now so I put in a request. Just something simple that will get me through till summer. nostr:npub1vwymuey3u7mf860ndrkw3r7dz30s0srg6tqmhtjzg7umtm6rn5eq2qzugd any ideas?

I've mentioned it before but a great perk for the next month is making my coffee with maple sap. It's 2% sugar and adds an interesting sweetness. Using my tree mug made by my crafty sister from Sarah's soap
