If it costs you your liberty, it's too expensive
Why couldn't an AI make a Npub and zap?? Anyone can make any amount of Npubs
As a non-tech person nostr was confusing at first, but once it is setup it is easy to "login" with the alby extension to anything
Right, all bitcoin is forever on the blockchain. The keys to your bitcoin are on your HWW.
I'm not talking about being "validated", I'm talking about increasing the number of opportunities to use bitcoin
Anyone have any ideas what is going on here?
I keep getting "failed to zap" have a NWC connected to my Alby Hub. If I delete the connection to primal in alby hub and reconnect it zaps seem to work for a while, then stop working after some time.
Not sure what is going on
Why? The more people adopt it, the more opportunities are available that it can be used daily.
With bitcoin both ways can be used together. Just because someone else uses a custodian, doesn't mean you have to, but if no such custodian exists, they won't bother with bitcoin at all and then the opportunity to exchange bitcoin instead of fiat is gone.
The "purist" mentality that ALL must use bitcoin in the most self-sovereign form is what will hold it back. I think that is the way it should be used, but I realize only a tiny minority of people will ever do it. It is like the Richard Stallman stance, not that he is wrong about free software... but the majority will never adopt his purism stance.
But I guess we can all just HODL our bitcoin and zap each other.
Big mistake when they changed the unalienable rights from "Life, liberty and property" to "Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness"
That is the "problem" with bitcoin and even nostr. It is complicated and not worth the hassle for the normal person. With Stike (while not as pure as the virgin mary) made it "easy" (reduced the friction) enough to use bitcoin & lightning and receive a payment in an instant.
Just download the app and I'll send it to you versus self-hosting your own node.
Most people do not and will NEVER want that (even though it is the best way to maximize the technology)
Both ways are needed to maximize adoption.
I'm with you, I am. However, the "herd" seems to favor "free with ads" or subscriptions to eliminate ads, versus zapping everything. Most people are not for liberty, but like their golden prison cell.
This could change "generationally" if younger people get exposed to nostr and prefer it or see it as the "default" way.
It's here to stay but likely to stay in the minority akin to Linux. Tons of Linux users and people building but will remain in the minority
I think nostr is destined to be in the minority. That doesn't mean it is inferior just the nature of things.
Basically. People applaud Saylor as he has stated he is "taking his to his grave" with him.
Bitcoin is seen as being "too valuable" to spend.
Most bitcoiners are HODLers
Bitcoin Maxi is considered as someone who saves all their money into bitcoin, and NEVER spends it.
Bitcoin Maxi should be someone who actually spends (uses) bitcoin.
I forgot to mention his handle on X is joshmandell6 if you want to check it out
ICYMI: On 11/5/24 a trader on X (after turning $2.1M into $20M via MSTR options) declared that the price of bitcoin would be $84,000.00 on 3/14/25.
Bitcoin closed at $84,000.00 on 3/14/25 (depending on the app you are using it may be off $10), on the nose.
He has said the (super?)cycle high will be $444,402.75
Buckle up!
that isn't an issue with matrix
Tom Lee has matter of factly said that Bitcoin $1M is likely within the next 10 years, if not sooner
