Ok, I managed to follow most of you back again.
Yesterday I bought 2 paid relays and added them to my nostr clients and now I see I involuntarily unfollowed more then 30 people in the process. Don't know how that could happen, sorry. I didn't unfollow any of you on purpose.
We need a mixture of Iris and Primal as web client and Amethyst, Damus and Plebster as mobile client. #nostr
Still trying to solve the mystery of paid relays. Why are they there? What do they exactly offer? What's the difference to free relays? Why don't they have detailed feature lists?

Is it just me who has an uneasy feeling about hearing the very people who, when they were in charge, were world champions in censoring unpopular opinions, babble on about freedom and uncensorship?

The Bitcoin scene is flooded with a bunch of idiots who have just enough brains to understand that Bitcoin is hard to stop and its value in fiat keeps going up, but otherwise don't give a shit about what the real purpose of Bitcoin actually is.
Apple is a private company and they can do very well without nostr users. And I don't think they will give in just because a fraction of their customers want so.
What I wonder is, where's all the "freedom" talk gone when it comes to this topic? Why this make yourself dependent on one manufacturer attitude when they obviously fight a political war against this whole Bitcoin-Nostr movement?
Why not turn to GrapheneOS development instead and make it better? It would also add a critical component to the whole Bitcoin/Nostr ecosystem with which much more would be possible in the future.
Ok, you have to give Elon Musk credit for one thing, he has largely fulfilled his 'free speech' promise. I notice it in the way Twitter treats the Muslims there. We get less penalties now, even though a lot of us post really weird things. Like things that aren't also halal in our religion.
Ok, some of us overdo it of course and manage to get their account deactivated every few weeks, but those are mostly guys where I also think "Bro, what's wrong with you?"
But as a rule, you can say that Muslims are a Litmus test in the binary ideological left/right world. Because we have a different worldview outside of that. And the left seems to have bigger problems with that.
And voilà there we have the left/right divide on protocol level. Weird times we live in.
