Aren't we conflating bots with Spam. For spam to be effective, it needs to be easy to pull off on a large scale. Doesn't pow raise the bar which makes spam less effective.

The current tools available in the lightning network has made it possible to open large lightning channels without having to maintain large liquidity. Combination of custodial and non custodial toppings makes this possible.

The beauty of an open protocol knowing how to have fun at its expense.

The ability to mute invalid nip05 by domains would be a welcome addition in the arsenal of tools to block spam on the client.

Would be interesting to have relays that only send notes from valid nip05 just like wot relays which exists

There are short term solutions while the devs work on a long term fix.

On #ameytst for example, click on the spammers profile and see the relays they share with you. Remove them from the general relays tab and you are good.

There is no point/advantage suffering with spam while waiting for a long term solution

This is some inception shit. Nostr in nostr

#wot relays makes global fun. On #amethyst I mostly used the following list but since switching to using just wot relays, I have defaulted to global. Would experiment with different minimum followers settings but currently using just 3 ATM.

Why doesn’t nostr:npub1tm99pgz2lth724jeld6gzz6zv48zy6xp4n9xu5uqrwvx9km54qaqkkxn72 have a lot of users? It already has this functionality plus a built in ecash wallet and nostr following feed.

Creating bots on nostr isn't as easy as botfather. Also I think UI similarity is key. Also telegram runs on web, desktop and mobile. 0xchat is only on mobile to my knowledge.

My mute words list got nuked. Not sure how this occured. Are mute words saved in relays or an app setting?

You probably mean "you need docker to self host it".

The only way to guarantee consistent behavior of software across different devices is if they all share the same base environment. If this can be achieved by any other means great.

It is one of the solutions to "it works on my computer problem". Most home server solutions (start9,umbrel etc) are built around this.

Doesn't matter if it is well designed if it can only run on the Creator's system.

I only observed this from notifications. When I open the post, i don't see anything which indicates the filters are functioning well. Would have to mute reply notifications temporarily.
