“One day in the neighborhood of Dogo’s Temple of Chang-chou, death occurred in a certain home and Zen Master Dogo took his disciple Zengen to express their condolences to the family.” During the visit Zengen tapped the coffin and asked, “Is he alive or dead?”

Dogo answered, “I won’t say alive, I won’t say dead.” Zengen said, “Why don’t you say?” Dogo repeated, “I won’t say. I won’t say.” On the way back to the temple Zengen again asked, “Please tell me clearly, Master, whether he is dead or alive. If you don’t tell me, I’ll hit you.” The teacher said, “Hit me if you like, but I won’t say.” So Zengen hit him.

At length Dogo died and Zengen, still troubled by the question, went to see Sekiso, a well-known Zen teacher. He told Sekiso how years ago he had struck his old teacher because he would not answer his question on life and death. Then he repeated the same question to Sekiso. Sekiso said, “I won’t say alive, I won’t say dead. I won’t say. I won’t say.” At that Zengen came to realization.

What is meant by economically left wing? Socialist?

All roads lead to global warming.

It's hot, that's global warming.

It's cold, that's global warming.

It's wet, that's global warming.

It's dry, that's global warming.

It hasn't changed at all, that's because of global warming.

It's like the worlds laziest attempt at game theory, the media does all of the heavy lifting.

Well, the media and the industrialisation of science and data.

Ted Kacynski (who I'm reading at the moment) has some really good insight about the pursuit of science in the modern age, but first you need to understand what he means by 'surrogate activity':

39. We use the term “surrogate activity” to designate an activity that is directed toward an artificial goal that people set up for themselves merely in order to have some goal to work toward, or let us say, merely for the qake of the “fulfillment” that they get from pursuing the goal. Here is a rule of thumb for the identification of surro¬ gate activities. Given a person who devotes much time and energy to the pursuit of goal X, ask yourself this: If he had to devote most of his time and energy to satisfying his biological needs, and if that effort required him to use his physical and mental faculties in a varied and interes¬ ting way, would he feel seriously deprived because he did not attain goal X? If the answer is no, then the person’s pursuit of goal X is a surrogate activity.

Now that that definition is out of the way, here is the afformentioned insight into science in the modern age:

87. Science and technology provide the most important examples of surrogate activities. Some scientists claim that they are motivated by “curiosity” or by a desire to “benefit humanity.” But it is easy to see that neither of these can be the principal motive of most scientists. As for “curiosity,” that notion is simply absurd. Most scientists work on highly specialized problems that are not the object of any normal curiosity. For example, is an astronomer, a mathematician or an entomologist curious about the properties of isopropyltrimethylmethane? Of course not. Only a chemist is curious about such a thing, and he is curious about it only because chemistry is his surrogate activity. Is the chemist curious about the appropriate classification of a new species of beetle? No. That question is of interest only to the entomologist, and he is interested in it only because entomology is his surrogate activity. If the chemist and the entomologist had to exert themselves seriously to obtain the physical necessities, and if that effort exercised their abilities in an interesting way but in some nonscientific pursuit, then they wouldn’t give a damn about isopropyltrimethylmethane or the classification of beetles. Suppose that lack of funds for postgraduate education had led the chemist to become an insurance broker instead of a chemist. In that case he would have been very interested

Chess is a surrogate activity for me (but I know it)

with the kneeling chair my legs are lower than 90 degrees, so if your graphic is accurate it should reduce pressure

Too amusing and horrible not to share:

"There is a serious point, though, which I started to glimpse at PyCon: that the values and assumptions contained in programming languages inform the software that’s written with them and change the world accordingly. By the time I’d learned that Brendan Eich, author of JavaScript, is an anti-vaxxer and was a supporter of a campaign to have same-sex marriage nixed in California, I wasn’t surprised.

I was surprised how much fun I had with the Pythonistas. Coding has a gender and race problem, with only about 5% of professionals identifying as women or either Black, African or Caribbean."

I spent a couple minutes searching just now.

It looks as though Klobukowska was trisomatic X (ie XXX chromosomes vs the typical XX for women) which apparently something like 1 in 1,000 women are.

Among the consequences of this disorder are extra height, which is an advantage in running and "subtle physical and skeletal anomalies" which I haven't seen explained but could also contribute to athletic performance.

Obviously if you just let everyone compete the winners will typically be men at the far end of the bell curve. If you try to create a restricted category for some group the winners will be at the far end of the bell curve inside of that group. For women's sports, this is going to mean cross-dressing men (who should probably be excluded) but also people with masculinizing genetic disorders like Klobukowsky and Semenya, as well as women with disorders of a non-genetic nature which promote testosterone (or other beneficial hormones for the competition in question).

In an unrestricted competition you will obviously have "gifted" men competing alongside performance-enhancing drug use, but at least everyone belongs in the competition and you don't have these edge cases.

All in all, this is another reminder that women's sports should be discontinued.

"monetisation of every natural process on this earth" would be a great improvement

I see it like this:

Socialism was supposed to be more "scientific" and "rational" than the free market, and therefore to deliver greater prosperity. When that prosperity failed to come, they instead made "eco" poverty into a virtue.

I'm sure some people are just concerned about clean air and get swept up into the rest of it. However I think the root of the movement is anti-human and anti-industrial.

There's also the Rockefeller connection, in which climate change was selected as a cause celebre due to the potential to foster a global state.

Thats NOT why the people with legitimate criticisms have increasing disdain for so-called Jewish influence and power in the West. Neither are the thinkers on the subject simply "whiny little bitches and jealous" lol... your immediate hostility is pretty sus though.

No one is upset that the Jews are smart. It's the cultural manifestations of the employment of their intelligence that the Christian European West is questioning. The pornography. The industrialization of the homosexual realm. The "abortion is a fundamental Jewish value" subversiveness and all the corrosive activities and fields they engage in that are simply NOT CONSONANT with the Christian spirit of the West - dormant as it may be at this point.... and then of course, like you alluded to with Marx, the endless gnawing and thrashing "revolutionary" movements that a number of Jews are absolutely prominent in. See E. Michael Jones "Revolutionary Spirit" for meticulous details on that. We didnt even mention the many wars for Israel in the middle east that have been ongoing for too long.

I do not actually concur that those you mentioned "transformed out world in profoundly positive ways" lmao. And, in fact most of the scientific discoveries and technological innovations were the result of European genius steeped in the Greek and animated by the fire of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit... and not Jewish at all.

"economy, psychology, medicine" LMAO yes those industries are all working in tip-top totalitarian antichrist condition... how liberating - you can almost just taste the BETTER WORLD. Thanks Jews.

Gad Saad is an Israel-firster. Gad Saad is an ex-Mossad agent. Gad Saad gets interviews with all of the right people. Gad Saad will "move to China" if the Conservatives do not do the bidding of Israel. That's how much he cares about "the West"... he is controlled opposition.

America is a European Christian nation, period. Gad Saad is neither. He is hostile to Christianity in spirit and in vocation... "Evolutionary Biologist" ... HAHAHAHAHA ! His whole field is a grift!

Its just not working man. Incompatible. Oil and Water.

The End.

They built themselves a statue to commemorate their own generosity?

The sandbox debacles over the last 30 years certainly hurt

I think political (ie actually religious) division is also a major issue. When half the country denounces the other (eg as deplorable) few people are going to want to defend both halves

Are you getting enough fat? If you fill up on egg yolk, bone marrow or butter you should be pretty satiated

What are you snacking on? If you're hungry maybe you needed a bigger meal (or a second meal) rather than whatever snack item

Be careful with dairy if that's in your version of carnivore - I find that I can be full to the point that I don't want to eat almost any food you'd put in front of me, but I could often still down a pint of cream (which is especially risky as I can rationalize it as animal fat, see point 1)
