I like lots of things: outdoorsy stuff, photography, music, gardening, Drupal, programming, universities.

Apparently, #noyfb is a new hashtag. It stands for “None Of Your Fucking Business”. I think this is a well-accepted perspective and should be more prevalent.

When you watch Despecialized, note that the opening crawl of text says “Star Wars”, but does NOT say “Episode IV: A New Hope”. That was added years later after they re-released the film in anticipation of “Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back”.

The film is called Star Wars. Full stop.

It wasn’t in the original release of the film. It was added in the late ‘90s by George Lucas in the “Special Editions”, which were objectively and unequivocally worse than the original trilogy.

Specifically, this scene was shot before Jabba was visually designed, so Harrison Ford didn’t even know what he was looking at or talking to. It re-tells a story that was already well established by the encounter with Greedo just moments before, so it’s pointless to the plotline. The CGI was clumsy, but even good ‘90s CGI mixed with ‘70s practical effects makes the scene disjointed.

I highly recommend Harmy’s Despecialized Editions of the original trilogy. They are a remarkable effort of film preservation since Lucasfilm has no interest in preserving the theatrical versions of the films. And that is a shame because the Special Editions (including any official release of the films post-90s) are utter garbage.

I graduated fifth in my class in High School with a GPA of 4.2.

I graduated college, with honors, with a degree in Economics.

I am proud of both of those facts.

I was there when I was five years old. I remember a concrete wall that was covered with broken glass embedded in the concrete.

That worked, and then I was able to join TestFlight, but now it’s saying “the developer removed you from the test program.”

I don’t normally post #catpictures but this is for science.

You should take into consideration any disparity in staff effort between your payment methods. If a transaction takes twice as long, and/or is more error-prone when it’s cash, then there is a value the credit card network provides.

For me, using a credit card is way more convenient and I get “points”. The drawback, of course, is the surveillance that comes along with it. As a customer, I don’t like seeing two prices, and/or having to do math in my head on whether the points I receive will even out the extra cost. Don’t make your customers think too hard. They’ll start thinking about whether they even need the product. Reduce friction as much as possible for payments.
