Summer of 1992 was the last time I got into a physical fight. I was in a nightclub with three of my cousins in Syracuse NY.
I was coming out of the bathroom and one cousin was fighting, so the rest of us jumped in.
Not that it matters, but I never found out what they were fighting over.
It's very likely everyone involved had been drinking for a while.
We spent that night in jail. Around 8am the next day, they let us out.
We thought it was some kind of clerical mishapp.
So we quickly fled police station before they figured out someone made a mistake.
But in retrospect, I don't think it was a clerical error. It's very likely they through us in the clinker so we could so sober up and not cause anymore trouble for the night.
I haven't been to Syracuse since then.

A bit foggy in my tiny strip of the 🌎 today. But still a pleasent autumn day. I'll take it thank you.

#Dogstr stuff. #3 (5 months old) reacts first and thinks next. #2 (3 y/o) watches first then reacts. I used to think this was a big. But it's actually a feature.
I left the house through the front door. Came home 2 hours later, used the back door. #2 was at attention watching the door open. Quietly.
#3 was going bazerk soon as he heard the movement at the back door.
Oh and #1, dude didn't even get out of his bed. 😅😂🤣

High time preference thinking is a societal cancer. I genuinely feel bad for some folks (and for some I don't).
This holiday season, if you have a friend or family member that works hard and does what they think they're suppose to do. Be a pain in there but and try to teach them a thing or two about the orange protocol and share with them how it's given you hope, freedom and a purpose.
Try not to sound cultie about it. The book that opened my mind to it in this way was "The Price of Tomorrow" by J e f f B o o t h.

It can be emotionally draining. Both on the up and down side. That's why it has to be a passion and not a job. It's great that you support her in this. I'm sure it's takes a toll sometimes.
We pass this one 🐕🦺 and it's human just about every morning in the trails. Sometimes that dog is with the hubby, and other times with the wife.
Aside from a brief head nod or "good morning", we rarely ever stop to speak. It's been this way for about 6 months now.
Today they stopped, so I stopped. And I was handed an invitation to their family 🎄🍂🍁🎄 party.
When I was younger I attended many such parties. In all cases they were business obligations. I don't drink at parties and it's almost always business. So different experience with just those to factors.
So I'd make an appearance long enough to be seen, then would usually fake a call and quietly disappear. Yeah, I'd leave my coat in the car as to not signal I was leaving when it was time for me to "take my call".
But I was in my mid 40's when I stopped attending these personally and sent someone from my team instead.
But I think I will attend this one. I enjoy passing this dog and their human in the trails pre-sunrise every morning. In some weird way they make me feel normal.

Yesterday, I witnessed a call being made by a team member to the benificiare of a client. That client was 34 y/o and had almost $500k in Life insurance. That client was fatally struck by a drunk driver on his way home Wednesday night.
The benificiare was his younger brother. I'm not going to front, but my allergies acted up a bit during that call. You know eyes, some tearing and stuff.
Sometimes it's not just job.

At the end of the day every once in a while, you might feel like you just did 12 rounds in the ring with 18 y/o Mike Tyson.
But thing to keep in mind is that, not only did you not get knocked out, but you're still standing.
Yeah maybe you're a bit banged up. But dang son, not only did you NOT get knocked out, but you're still on your feet.
Pat yourself on the back my dude. You faced the champ though you might not have won. You learned some things and met some some cool folks. That's a cool thing.

When I do hill work for marathon training, my hack is, short strides (half my normal level ground stride) and one of the few times my head is ever bowed down to watch each step and paying no attention to what's ahead with few glances measuring distance to the peak. The focus is on each, single step.
