I woke up this morning (well really this afternoon) to a house full of happy and relatively healthy family. Isht felt good.
But I also love the mountain house. I don't have to be dressed to hit the kitchen for some java.
Not a complaint, just an observation.

I wouldn't want one in my yard, but wouldn't mind if my neighbor had one in their yard.

I had a 15 minute water cooler convo with a 20 y/o man around noon today. During that convo, I saw more potential in him then he saw in himself. By the COB he had a part time job that he was excited about.
I think he's in for a healthy but wild ride.
In January we were 4 full time employees, then we became 5 and today we became a team of 5.5

A shot from recent past. A beautiful morning it was. Unlike the rain we're currently getting.
I had to turn the DND feature on my phone off for 2 nights while a family member was in the hospital. In the event someone from the hospital needed to get a hold of me.
I didn't get much sleep that night.
I also didn't realize how many people text and call after that bedtime hour until this week. Now I know and I cherish that feature.

We roll up to the dog park, let ourselves into the big dog section.
Moments later all the little dogs flee the big dog section to the "safer" small dog section. And soon there after a pack of small dogs attack one small dog.
The pooch and I watch the mayhem with popcorn in hand from the scary big dog section.

I can't do it now bc, if I had two days off in the week and I had to write a list of the top 2,000 things I would like to do during those 2 days.....detailing my 20 something Toyota Camry would not be on that list.
But I get it if that's not the case with him.
My pops would do the same with his garden when I was a young pup.
I watched the guy down the street detail his car today. He began sometime around noon. It's now 7pm and he is still at it.
I remember the days when I had the time to detail my own car on a Saturday. It's been at least 30 years. I envy him.

Back in the 1940's and 50's when some emigrants arrived in the US from their old country as teenagers, their parents added 10 years to their age (a 14 yo is now 24 yo) on the paper work so they can get jobs and contribute to the their household finances.
Well fast forward a few decades later, those same folks can now retire essentially 10 years earlier.
But they choose to continue working. Some of them.

I had dinner with a 75 yo couple earlier this week. They have never in their lives had alcohol or drugs.
They both still work (not as many hours as when they were younger) and are in perfect health.
I thought to myself.....well I crossed those bridges a lonnnnng time ago. 😲

Just sold my mailman some life insurance (on his day off).
He's 20 yo, it cost him nothing. He'll thank me when he's about 35 when he realizes how lucky he was for meeting me at the age of 20.
