Really enjoyed seeing Miyazaki's latest film "The Boy and Heron' today.

Read some middling reviews of it, saying it was too confusing or incoherent. Well it wasn't, I guess they were just thick or something 😁

Not sure I can ever trust parakeets in the way same again though.

I compulsory purchased it for my daughter the other day, completely forgot one of them was called Rudolf Von Strudel πŸ˜†

It's like the carbon in a water filter it gets rid of a lot of things you don't want to consume. The em or bokashi part is really interesting Cuauhtemoc has cleaned quite a few water courses with it I think in this video he mentions some of these bacteria are needed for fish like salmon.

Didnt use the cage in the end for #bokashi #biochar river scrubber. Just seemed more aesthetically pleasing to leave it in bags near the spring source that was feeding the pond.

The water is far cleaner than it was last time I visited as they were putting barley straw bales in the water every two weeks! They have also spent the last week removing all the blanket weed. They were still very keen to see if this can help though.

No cons as far as I am concerned only benefits in regard to tilting the angle of the barrel allows more oxidation and more heat(the more extreme the tilt the more it acts like a chimney)for burning wetter wood... obviously there is a trade off you get less char but when you have a lot of material to burn it's worth it.

If you do have more wet material to burn you still need dry to get the heat up. Also stacking the wet wood upright can help as it evaporates the sap outside the barrel.

Post some pics when you get it done Ryan πŸ‘

I cut it the same as the Aussie who came up with the idea. Which I found thanks to Jack Spirko's biochar resource page which I would also recommend:

πŸ‘ still not showing on the note here for some reason atleast we know it's working though.

Indeed it's been through atleast 30 or so burns and simply left outside in all weather not under any cover etc. Its rusting a bit but it's holding up really nicely.

I feel your pain! Last year I paid Β£25.80 to move from GBP to USD so I orange pilled the person for the second payment :)

Also the banks usually give you a crappy exchange rate and with Bitcoin you clearly see the fee up front when you are sending it. Its better on so many levels.

No one was a carver until they started carving, keep going :)

My point is don't get riled up by newspapers and specific framing. I am not necessarily denying an event happened but Neo nazi and far right is the current bogeyman so I am likely to be sceptical.

During the Covid protests in London the newspapers would underplay the numbers every week and dismiss the people as 'far right' or fringe lunatics. Sometimes they upgraded it to a few thousand. In reality they were from all different backgrounds and there were easily hundreds of thousands of them which you could watch in the time-lapse videos.

I don't trust liars without evidence that is all.
