#Permaculture and idiocy

Definitely, it's English being a dominant language, it's actually easy to work here and we are generally hospitable to foreign people and compared to a lot of countries we are furthur down the fiat distortion road. So we need to import cheaper labour to give impressions the numbers are good to make sure our credit is good even though everyone is broke.

Martin Crawford's food forest is under threat because he doesn't actually own the land it's on. One of the major problems with England is most of the land is owned by very few people. This makes it insanely expensive to do anything because there is very little availability to have access to physical space. This is all exacerbated by fiat as we all know and importing more people to keep up the impression that the economy is good when living standards have been falling for decades now.

This is why most young people interested in permaculture in the U.K end up leaving as only the seriously wealthy can now afford land and improving land you don't own doesn't make a lot of sense.

I hope Martin's food forest doesn't end up being sold and not given the respect it deserves like food forest pioneer Robert Hart's was.

Yes indeed. This year we might even reach the two full weeks when people are happy before they start complaining it's too hot again πŸ˜‚

That's great. I really like the idea of people contributing by hosting.

nostr:nprofile1qqs0sxxdz722j74u5kvzym4chlualjx0jef32llvdveg98jpqs0tmlgfwhsdd does this sort of thing normally actually cost you anything? Because there seems to be self hosted start9 option that people in special needs could probably operate.

That's interesting, apart from decentralisation does the podcaster potentially save in server fees too?

Use a load of biochar to buffer the ph and retain moisture and get some specialist ericoid fungi for it too . Mines outside it does grow well until I forget to throw something over it when it gets very cold, but its survived my negligence so far. I want to grow a tree above it to give it a bit more shelter at some stage.

Definitely do the biochar or use a lot of ericoid compost though killed one years ago by not accounting enough for the ph and they seem to be less forgiving than the ornamental camellias.

You don't need high elevation it just changes the flavour of the tea. They can deal with some cold but it can knock them back a bit the closer it gets to -5C (23F)

Yeah, as much as I like perhaps it a good opportunity to try a new mobile client again.

When did Ireland stop being neutral!?! Did Putin insult B*Witched or something?

Just add water and the 'crazy' #biodynamic cow horn powdered quartz preparation comes alive. πŸ‘»

All because you saw old lady Stewart Lee. What are doing next getting a tattoo of Robbie Williams?😁

It's pretty but does it work well without a barrel and J tube?

Asked my friend that once, he went with Flash. I think the ability to melt and leave any social occasions I don't actually want to be at won it for me πŸ˜‚

Would you rather have powers of the T-1000 or Grandmaster Flash?

When I worked for a company packing organic juice we had to send samples for it to be tested for residues of stuff that shouldn't be in there. But then again we also sent cider out for sale that said it was 3.8% on the label and eventually we had it tested at a lab and it was more like 6.8% πŸ˜†. So I think there is an element of truth to it.

All the permaculture people will tell you "The problem is the solution". Then if you ask them for advice they will all tell you 'it depends ' πŸ˜‚ because its a system for thinking about design which enables multiple expression rather a rigid system of techniques (which some don't understand) . You dad sounds like a great guy to listen too and who doesn't appreciate Bruce Lee's insights into things πŸ™‚

You know what I don't actually know for sure, they weren't bought by me originally they were there for the bees and ornamental reasons I have not tried eating them. However thinking about how they shrug off all but the coldest weather we have here and always return they are more than likely cardoons.

Ferrous sulphate is another one to potentially try for paramagnetic properties. Just don't like the idea of there possibly being sulphur fumes, so I am going to stick with rock dust for now.
