The move to ban books in US schools is eerily similar to the plot in Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.
I consider it a 🚩that a certain political movement would go out of its way to create a more uneducated and underexposed populace.
It makes me sad that a younger generation may lose the opportunity to be exposed to new ideas or ways of life not easily accessible to them due to their upbringing.
Growing up in strict immigrant, religious household in the Deep South, I would have grown up to be a close-minded adult with very little desire to leave my small suburban town if not for the books that I read from my school library.
Here the list of the 11 most banned books in US schools 2022-2023 according to PEN America:

Buy them, read them, and share them.
Stockpile books that same way you stack sats.
Banning books in schools? This only makes sense when you look at schools for what they really are: indoctrination camps. 😔
Roger was very kind to let me know, but I am still unsure what he's referring to...
I guess we have to apply for a license, that's how open networks work. 🙃
Or just simply show the date of your last note...

I agree with the empathetic part, but disagree with the rest. It's important to be selfish, I view it as dangerous and impractical to put your needs aside.
I think there's a plug-in for that too. 😅
It makes your ad blocker undetectable to websites.
Yeah, but it has nothing to do with the fact that they are YT amateurs. 🙂
Many professional fights also look boring to lay people like me...
Absolutely, and this is how I roll!
But it's also unrealistic to expect not to judge in those moments, we need to prepare our kids for adulthood, to be independent and compete for scarce resources...
Yeah, everyone wants to watch Fury fight Usyk, or Ngannou fight John Jones (MMA) but instead...
I see it this way, the majority of professional athletes don't make enough money, and considering their short window of opportunity, and the dangerous nature of their profession, they have to be pragmatic and follow the money while they can.
Fury fought Chisora (and to a certain extent, Ngannou as well) to give them the opportunity to make big $$ (but obviously also for selfish reason$).
I share the same sentiment but I am also wondering whether the Youtube "clowns" are actually saving this sport?
Last one about my little one today, promised! 😅
Yesterday, his football team had their second game, and they got annihilated by a technically superior and more coherent team.
My little one was understandably very disappointed so I thought it'd be the prefect opportunity to teach him about the importance and necessity of defeat in life. He didn't say much in the moment, but I think he got it.
How do you dads out there deal with situations where your kids limitations are exposed, when they don't do as well as their peers etc? What has been your mental dialogue in these situations?

My little one started football with a lot of passion, but also with "two left feet" (not much talent). It's amazing how far his passion for playing the game, and persistence, have taken him. I'm at training right now, watching him practicing with his mates, and it's so rewarding (for him!) to hear the coach constantly praising him for his efforts.
Welcome Drallas. Glad to connect here.
What? The protocol is broken? 😅
The only follower you should worry about losing is yourself. Speak your mind freely. No need to "hide" 🤪🫂
Do we have scholars here who can explain what this truly means? I'm not satisfied with the mainstream interpretation/ perception, I find it impractical and even dangerous...

With other parents, we spend a lot of time in the park after school. This is where some of us take our late afternoon work-related calls, or socialise with other families, or hide behind our laptops, while the kids are playing.
Some hard-working parents will prefer to send their kids to the park with the nanny. The issue with many nannies is that they often don't have children themselves, and in most cases, that's precisely why they are hired for the job! You can very easily tell which nanny has kids, and which one has not.
