Lurking, posting occasionally, and zapping anonymously. Observing always. Pulmonaut nostr-java is my hobby project.

I haven't properly tried the client yet, but I wonder if it'd be possible to "subscribe" to a thread (conversation)? Either you get notified when someone posts (not sure if you do notifications), or the thread reappears on your feed...

Whatever you can do consistently, because it's consistency that matters.

The act of doing something regularly is more important than the specific activity itself.

If you’re a technical bitcoiner. Please watch.

If you’re not. Watch and then start learning the technical side.

> Based on the YouTube video, it appears the NSA used several strategies to centralize Skype communications after it was acquired by different companies. When eBay initially acquired Skype, the NSA partnered with them but did not achieve their goal of gaining access to Skype's source code or controlling its network. eBay then sold Skype at a loss, after which Microsoft acquired it. Microsoft then changed Skype's architecture to make all communications go through Microsoft servers, allowing the NSA to potentially access decrypted Skype data at these central servers if needed.

LOL. Try with pressed lemon juice. πŸ˜‹

(I grew up with papaya trees in my garden.)

Just got some biltong from the butcher. It's my little one's favourite after-school snack. πŸ˜‹

I work for a large American corporation in Germany. I am a trainer. That means I train new employees and also design and deliver internal training. Most of the time I work online in my home office, but I also go on-site to our offices. It's fair to say that almost every employee in Germany has had a training session from me and often with me. Actually also all employees in the UK, Ireland, South Africa, India,Egypt, Poland and Italy. My main task, apart from professional training, is certainly to anchor the Group values in the employees. And what can I say, it pisses me off more and more. Now that it's clear (at least to me) that I won't be around for too much longer, I've changed my training a bit today. It was the last day before it goes to the independent work. I just threw #bitcoin into the virtual space for once (I design my trainings freely, however my employer is not a big #bitcoin friend, he developed his own token after all).

Amazing and extremely lively conversations ensued. I hadn't heard one or two of my newbies for the last two weeks, but on this topic it turned out that there was quite a bit of knowledge there.

One question in particular stuck with me, "Do you really think #Bitcoin can fix everything and solve all problems?" (Someone must have heard @jack in interviews πŸ˜‰)

And I have to say, no I don't think so. But I am convinced of #Bitcoin, as rarely before. I am convinced that #Bitcoin can alleviate and even eliminate the pain and injustice of our monetary system. Of course, this is a long process and not something that happens quickly. But already today #Bitcoin is important for many people living in difficult circumstances. There are many technical challenges and other obstacles as well. But honestly, if #Bitcoin improves even one person's life, it means the world to that one person. I want to do everything I can to make sure that there are more and more people whose world is changed for the better by #bitcoin. #Bitcoin has already improved mine in many ways.

By the way, I'm curious how long it will take for my boss to get back to me.

That's a great question worth exploring.

Most normies I talk to about Bitcoin cannot tell the difference with NFTs, they put everything in the same basket, and that can be so frustrating at times. There's so much work to do just to undo the confusion...

Agree! I think they are trying to achieve something similar with records.

I compile with intellij, and it works fine. I package the exec with maven and can get it to run in my ide without issues.

The error only occurs after I copy the same package (executable jar plus classpath libs) on a different machine, and try to run it there.

I will need to review all the different steps again. We'll see...

I'm using lombok for productivity reasons, but now I'm getting errors telling me that java can't find my getter methods. It'll take me another evening to figure it out...πŸ˜ͺ

It worked on my machine, though. πŸ˜…

Ironically, I've also noticed an acute sense of hopelessness, and resignation among people who feel deeply betrayed by the political class, and don't know how to escape the system and what's coming.

I don't know how widespread these feelings are, as I've spoken only to a few people.

I spent the weekend in Germany, in surreal Frankfurt, where polished political partys' banner ads hang prominently on almost every single streetlight!

The people pictured on the banners looked so warm and friendly, that you can't help but want to trust them, and sometimes even hug them... πŸ˜…

The paper now costs up to Β£3.50

Yes, you're totally right, but it seems different this time, with conservatives facing annihilation in the next general elections, but I could be wrong, as well...
