🤔 I would like to get fitter. However, I'm a little short on where to start. Running? Gym? Yoga? Who has ideas, links, recommendations?

Diet first then whatever you like. It might be gym or yoga or any sports.

I have also thought about nutrition. I am reading about intermediate fasting. And wonder if I should eat a larger proportion of plant-based food. Do you have any recommendations?

I think you shouldn’t over complicate things. Just have a normal omnivore diet😂 and focus more on portion size. Eat 3 times a day, try to include things you like, workout 4-5 days a week and try not to go hard on yourself otherwise you might quit in between. It’s a long term process, just stay patient🤙🏻

I tend to exaggerate 😂 Thanks for the tip

No snacks. As little alcohol as you can.

Know what you eat. But if you like IF - it works for me, try. Helps with sugar management and it is hard to stuff yourself as much in a short time.

But what makes it all work - my wife and I, we do it together

Whatever you can do consistently, because it's consistency that matters.

The act of doing something regularly is more important than the specific activity itself.

That makes sense. I need to establish a fixed routine. 🙏🏼

Lift your bodyweight

Lifting weights is supposed to be especially good for the bones, I've read 🤔.

All of the above is great advice. I’m partial to running. But definitely walk/run to start if your fitness is not yet for a sustained run. Really, 10k steps a day—walking or running is fit making w/ a healthy diet. Viel Glück 👍

I try to take long walks whenever possible. I have also tried my hand at yoga. Danke 🙏🏼 ich werde berichten

Yoga is so primo too. I got into it about 4 years ago after hurting my back and I still practice here and there. Especially if you can find a yoga group/instructor that you enjoy—bc then you get the community accountability to arrive on the mat 🧘

It depends on what you prefer. The most important thing is that you start easy and slow and don't overexert yourself. It doesn't matter what you start with. The main thing is that you choose a type of sport that you enjoy and that will help you get fitter in the long term.

Weight training combined with animal based diet

I have never trained with weights 🤔 but I kind of feel like it

Start small, make sure your technique is good and don’t be afraid to ask other people in the gym.

When you weight train you create muscles which on their part create better metabolism.

Thanks 🙏🏼 I'll check out the gyms in my area. I hope that not only super fit and mega trained people are there. That would intimidate me a bit

Don’t let them intimidate you! Majority of them are happy to help you! 💪🏽

100% weight training

What’s most important is consistency. You can start small. 10mins a day. Once you’re comfortable move up to 15mins. And so on

Slowly but surely

Fortunately, I am not overweight. I just haven't paid attention to fitness and nutrition in recent years. I would like to have more energy, be fitter and eat healthier.
