Have you ever tried to give a 72 year, half-blind woman, tech support over the phone after she's (somehow) deleted her wifi network from Windows? I just tried for the last hour without success. Had to call my sis to head over to mum's place to sort this out.

Her task bar is probably set to auto hide and she's saying "I don't see it! It isn't there!"
no. we tried with whatsapp camera enabled which was another thing in itself lol
Wow. She must've really messed it up. Sometimes its not their fault. Somehow boomers always find the 1:1000000 computer with hardware that dies from lack of use
It appears that there was a widespread outage earlier today which prompted her to mess around on her laptop and with the router. I think she has hidden or deleted the connection and with her eyes she wont be able to fix this AND enter the password correctly. But it's all good my sister lives closer to her and she's going there now.
Told her to show our mum how to use her phones hotspot as well for whenever vodafone breaks down again. Their service (in this region) is shit anyway.
Yes, yes I have (or very similar situations).
I feel your pain π©
She gets all nervous and talks over me why I try to get her to do certain things. Doesn't help π
Well, if itβs any help, my Father used to phone for help. He was an electronics engineer, but knew very little about computers. He would tell me what the problem was and ask for help. I would tell him to do something and immediately his confrontational and dominant nature would kick in and he would tell me I was wrong.
There would be silence for a couple of minutes until he would say βSo what do I do then?β And I would repeat my previous instruction. You can see how this plays out Iβm sure π
Yes π« i feel you . Take it easy for the rest of the day!! You need your energy You could Better wash a dog thats muddy π Buddy π Sorry π
π€£ I'll take the dog!
Yes, and itβs incredibly difficult without being there. Hope it all gets sorted.
I'll raise you a mostly deaf, stubborn as hell 73 year old dad trying to do something on his phone π. Here's hoping it all gets sorted π«π«.
I feel your pain!

So. In the end my sister went there, clicked the wifi button on the router and MamaGrinder is happy again. Yes, I did ask her three times if the wifi light is enabled on the router. The thing is, she only sees the lights that are on. A light being off is black on black.
