Oh oops it's been a while. I got ungoogled chromium from wherever was the official place to download it is, which wasn't very official, because they take builds from anyone.

Vanadium has done great work at hardening chromium but it is not a privacy browser.

I used Brave and Firefox side by side watching the traffic with portmaster. Firefox frequently phoned home to different sites while brave was silent. Both browsers had maximum privacy settings enabled and no extensions.
