If we just get a few thousand people running blossom servers, we could replace YouTube

What is required? Hardware/instructions (url) to make it happen.
Yeah, I'm interested. A quick search turns up Minecraft servers, though.
Hmm. Could we have the ability to mirror content on trusted friend's blossom instances.
Can I run it in da phone
Yeah I'm fed up with YTs BS.
I tried to avoid google bs but all my learning comes from youtube so i use a client for it but i get so many errors
Remember Popcorn Time? 10 years ago, it let people stream full movies via torrents, totally decentralized. Nostr Blossom is now opening doors for similar peer-to-peer content sharing, but for all kinds of data. The future of the internet is in the hands of the plebs
I still stream torrent movies all the time ...
Are there clients specific for Blossom. Sorry if this is a noob question, Iβm genuinely interested in a Nostr YT.
Aren't videos the domain of NIP-96? I thought that was for media while blossom was for file sharing.
Where can i learn more? Longer videos would be great on NOSTR.
Getting new hardware for my node so I'll have a extra computer... What kind of specs we talking about for a Blossom server and for a relay?
Iβm a newbie to nostr but would like to learn how this technical side of development is done, and how non programmers can lend a hand
Is there a guide available yet?
Replacing TikTok is easier - hosting and serving small videos is significantly cheaper comparing to tens of minutes of 4k60 videos.
Thing is, there are already clients out there where we could integrate Nostr + Blossom to (re)distribute existing content (it would open up a nice copyright fight there)

https://github.com/tubearchivist/tubearchivist (I'm running my own instance to download YT videos for my kids)
What benefit does blossom provide other than a simple http server that allows upload?

Iβd be interested in helping with that. Can you provide a link for how to set it up?
