In my mid twenties I followed a strict raw vegan diet for a year, thinking it was healthy. This is how I looked by then end of it…

i was vegan for six years because of a girl… 🤦🏾♂️i too looked like a cancer patient
Your hair and your teeth are the big tells.
I went vegan once but only made it two months. I lost so much muscle it just wasn’t worth it.
Meat is the answer Tuur 👌🏻
Oh, I know!
Sorry to hear that man. I’m vegan but firmly think everyone should choose the diet that’s best for them, and if folks are going to go vegan be intentional about it, take your time (I slowly dabbled over 2 years before going fully vegan). I’m not raw or anything, take supplements I need, and I think it’s getting easier and easier in terms of getting everything you need to do it in a healthy way. Folks can disagree with me and that’s ok!
I so feel this Tuur. I also thought I looked healthy when I followed a strict whole food, plant based diet. Looking back at pictures is shocking. Even my chest was boney.

Exercise to feel healthy!!
Yes, a healthy body just needs exercise and a balanced diet. Eating meat is not wrong or unhealthy.
Humans need a layer of fat under their skin! Just not too much, or too little. 🙂
You look younger and healthier in your profile photo.
Our beef for diner is ready, can’t wait. So much nutrition 😊

Your post is getting a lot of traction.

Dat ain't Tuur...
It is man… image not shopped at all
Nah man. You look more SOVEREIGN now.
I start Keto tomorrow.
20g carbs or less per day....
Thanks for your inspiration.
I don't understand vegan or what it's about. These days most self proclaimed vegans I've met, don't even know the difference between vegetarian or vegan.
Humans need proteins and fat. It's healthy to eat vegetables and meat. It's always been part of our natural diet.
Some vegans I've met would even let sheep suffocate to death by not shaving them. And no chicken in my garden gets hurt by eating their eggs.
So for me it's very confusing if it's about animal welfare or your own health.
Personally I do volunteering in wild animal rescue and nursing. I often eat vegetarian, but vegan sounds extreme and not logical.
Hi Tuur, I have had brilliant results in terms of appearance/body and especially well-being/concentration with intermittent fasting and keto. Especially the combination of both is really effective. I did OMAD (one meal a day) for a year on keto. 23,5h nothing but water and green tea. 3-4h before the meal had the workout in the gym. I have never been as clear headed as I was at that time, need to start again....
IF particular the process of autophagy is probably the healthiest thing for the human organism there is. Especially in times of rampant food industry and the ability to appease the slightest hunger no matter when by minimalist effort. We eat far too often, and often far too poorly.
Thanks for sharing that Apex 🙏
I did 18 - 6 fasting for a year or two recently with good results. Exciting to think that there’s another level to it! OMAD… hm…
16:8 is already a start (in principle only omit breakfast or dinner, many already do this unconsciously), but to utilize the real benefits of autophagy, i.e. cell renewal and breakdown/recycling of both broken cells and waste products, the time window without fresh energy/calories must be longer. After 16-20h the hormonal effects only begin. For example, increased output of HGH, Human Growth Hormone (no, you do not grow, but the breakdown of muscle mass is prevented to a certain extent) or the adrenaline output.
These are evolutionary processes, people 10,000s of years ago often had periods where there was nothing to hardly anything to eat for days. The body has reacted to it, cleaned itself, the glucose in the musculature, body fat pulled up and at the same time hormones released which protect against tiredness etc., so that the body became more awake, more efficient for hunt and calorie procurement.
Until the glucose and the contents of the digestion are digested, however, it takes a certain time. 16 hours is not ideal, so I would try a whole day.
Of course, hormonal adjustments to fasting do not last forever. At some point, the chemistry and physics sets in and after a certain time without calories the organism dies (keyword: entropy). But that's several days/weeks without food.
Fasting or OMAD for one day is great, it has so many benefits. Not to mention how much time you save by not having to constantly prepare meals or worry about what to eat again.
Ah sorry it's, 18:6. Just saw. Add another 2-4 hours, every hour more has increased impact!
You look 62 there, NGL
