its some bible thing

JB curious on your thoughts about the Knots vs. Core v30 debate.

i am biased, I contributed to core v30 and am running it

No pressure, feel free to ignore, but if you had to give a critique of Knots, what would it be? Also, do you worry this leads to a hard fork, or is that not in the cards?

Other than knots still uses centralized block checkpoints in its code. people use this software when so many changes have been made with no review other than luke good luck with your knots it’s fucking nutz!

You are writhing bill shit I show what actually in the code

JB, curious on what your response to this would be? https://x.com/BitcoinWifey/status/1981679005557465366

😬

Oh I get it now. You just have a thing against luke so you can't see clearly.

I don’t have anything against him personally. I had a good time chatting with him in person about op_return. I just disagree with him on technicals

Jesus tied knots in a rope and beat some people doing bad things in a temple, heard it explained on a podcast of course!

I haven’t heard the connection between knots and that story—what podcast did you hear it on?

No translation I’ve read uses the term knots though. Usually in English translation it is cords or lashes.

The people doing ā€˜bad things’ were money changers who were giving bad rates on currency exchange and abusing pilgrims with their control of the local money.

It’s be a cool connection to draw for sure with bitcoin because in many ways it is a corrective to the abuses of money changers.

ā€œAnd he found in the temple them that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting.

And when he had made, as it were, a scourge of little cords, he drove them all out of the temple, the sheep also and the oxen, and the money of the changers he poured out, and the tables he overthrew.ā€

You should see the knots section around minute 13.

Appreciate it—just had a listen and those guys just say it and don’t reference any source. It’s a plausible connection for sure but I don’t exactly trust them very much. The podcast hosts radiate soy-energy and communicate any useful info in a haughty and condescending manner. They obviously think Luke is crazy and go out of their way to smirk at Luke’s unconventional views like Geocentrism.

There’s a lot more to it and it is much more interesting than these guys make it out to be.

See Wolfgang smith’s writings on the topic of surrounding the physics of geocentrism and issues with heliocentrism.

As to the rival concept of heliocentrism, it is debatable whether the Copernican theory as such contradicts the notion of geocentcality. It is a fact that relative to a heliocentric coordinate system-ā€œunder this orderly arrangement,ā€ as Copernicus writes- ā€œa wonderful symmetry in the universe, and a definite relation of harmony in the motion and magnitude of the orbs, of a kind not possible to obtain in any other way,ā€œ is brought to light; but does this prove that it is the Earth and not the Sun that moves? From a mathematical point of view the question does not even make sense: which body moves depends upon our choice of coordinates. Whether we perceive geocentrism to be compromised by the Copernican discovery depends ultimately, not on scientific fact, but on our philosophic orientatison. The discovery itself does no more than reveal a hitherto unrecognized ā€œrelation of harmony in the motion and magnitude of the orbsā€ -ad majorem Dei gloriam, a Christian can say. No wonder Pope Clement was delighted, and encouraged the Polish savant to publish his findings. The conflict over heliocentrism, as one knows, did not erupt until the following century, when Galileo promulgated, not simply a mathematical theory, but an entire worldview. As I have pointed out repeatedly, it is precisely the bifurcation postulate implicit in Galilee’s distinction between the so-called primary and secondary qualities that underlies the scientistic Weltanschauung as its basic plank. One sees in retrospect that the famous dispute was not just about astronomical facts, as one likes nowadays to believe, but that underneath the surface a much larger issue was at stake, an issue which vitally affects the Church. As concerns the contemporary cosmologies, the crucial point to be noted is that these are based not simply on empirical facts and known physical laws, but require in addition a third ingredient of a very different kind: a cosmological model, namely.

But whence are these models derived? How, in particular, does one arrive at the model that underlies the most famous cosmology of our day, the so-called big bang cosmology? Here is what Stephen Hawking and George Ellis have to say on this question:

ā€œWe are not able to make cosmological models without some admixture of ideology. In the earliest cosmologies, man placed himself in a commanding position at the centre of the universe. Since the time of Copernicus we have been steadily demoted to a medium sized planet going around a medium sized star on the outer edge of a fairly average galaxy, which is itself simply one of a local group of galaxies. Indeed we are now so democratic that we would not claim our position in space is specially distinguished in any way. We shall, following Bondi, call this assumption the Copernican principle. A reasonable interpretation of this somewhat vague principle is to understand it as implying that, when viewed on a suitable scale, the universe is approximately spatially homogeneous.ā€œ

It appears that the geocentric worldview was cast out, not on the strength of scientific facts or known laws of physics, but indeed on ideological grounds. The problem with geocentrism is that it smacks of intelligent design. It happens that the founders of modern cosmology espoused an

ideology that favors chance or randomness over the notion of an intelligent

creator; fundamentally, big bang cosmology is Darwinism on a cosmic scale.

I find them and the pod an interesting listen, and obviously you’re welcome to disagree!

Bitcoin Season 2 - Inside the mind of Luke Dashjr

Because it ties relays together.

Haven't followed the vibe on Nostr about Knots vs. Bitcoin Core v30. Are Nostr users leaning one way or the other?

yes they are leaning toward permanent niggerdom as they always were and always will be.

Because « forget me… »

Knot today, Karnage. Knot today.

Knot sure
