#Nostr has become very unengaging lately.

The proliferation of clients and mini-clients has fragmented users to the point where there is no point in having more than 30k followers because everyone posts but very few interact.

Or at least that is my personal opinion.

Have you encountered the same thing?

I have felt a lull, and this feeling like I am missing something to the bigger picture here.

Maybe it's a phase of change, but I don't understand if it's for better or for worse.

I'm still recovering from the conference.

Thanks for your feedback.

I suppose it could be something on your end, but Nostr is a bit difficult to measure or predict. Retention is probably low given how unintuitive it can be.

And it's quite a Bitcoin/Nostr echo chamber. I've seen no noticeable growth in other topics that interest me or average people.

I rarely talk about Bitcoin, my posts are mostly about art, mine or others', and I don't see interactions on these.

I am new here, have been trying to interact with posts that resonate. Don’t get much when I post though.

You have few people following you, so it's understandable.

Thanks for the reply. What’s your recommendation to increase followers?

On Nostr, the value of content is highly valued, especially genuine content.

Always interact politely and your circle of acquaintances will increase.

Would you rank from most important to less important the following indicators of "meaningfull Connection":

A) amount of replies you have to someone

B) amount of likes you send someone

C) amount of quotes you sent someone

D) amount of zaps you sent someone

I cannot count the content of Texts because I want to do an "recommendation mechanism" ans having yo read the text is too complex

1. Replies (A) – strong interaction

2. Zaps (D) – show value or support

3. Quotes (C) – signal recognition or alignment

4. Likes (B) – passive acknowledgment

I've noticed that chat to each other when it's important to comment or when someone requests support for something. Nostr is different than all other social sites because most of us understand each other without always needing lots of words for the sake of filling space. 🧡✨👍

Thanks for your feedback.

Almost zero interactions on the few photo posts I shared lately…

No… zero… ti ho scritto io…

Nostr has always been a mess with many half-baked tiny clients and empty communities. Now with vibe coding there will be even more meaningless apps.

But I don't know I'd it's less engaging than usually or not

Yes exactly, my concern is exactly that.

I heard you saying about Alby going out being a reason why it got worse.

Minibits is quite fun and maybe by talking to the devs you can explain what you miss on it.

You can join the devs on telegram here:

I don't think I said something like that, or I misunderstood.

I’ve found it slow and steady, there’s probably a handful of people I interact with regularly.

On the one hand, if the platform were busier, I would likely get more interest in my work but on the flip, they’d be so much other stuff going on I’d find it overwhelming. I appreciate slower social media platforms. X was never a site that vibed with me.

I remember in the earlier days of the Fediverse (Mastodon etc) there was a lot of talk about how we ‘need more users’ etc. but as Twitter fell apart new people came…. Now it’s pretty busy. I wonder if we’re seeing a shift to smaller platforms that better suit groups… Fediverse, BlueSky, Nostr etc. all appeal to different groups.

The big difference with Nostr is I suspect a lot of potential users still find X useful in somewhere… or people just like arguing and watching videos of kids being killed. I’ve no idea what the appeal is tbh.

I understand very well what you are saying.

For me, too, the slower, more intimate platforms are where I find the most value in interactions.

The frenetic pace of X has never appealed to me, and often seems more anxiety-provoking than anything else.

I can see your point. nostr has been a slow burn for me. most posts get interactions, some get comments, some get zaps. usually it is the same people but I don't mind. Once in a while I see someone new interact with me and I try to reciprocate if I find their content interesting as well.

I like the slow pace and the meaningful connections. I've been around for a while and there are lulls.

with that said, if you find that you aren't getting the interactions that you want, it means that whatever you're doing isn't resonating with people and you need to change it up. try something different and see what happens because whatever you have been doing isn't working.

Thanks for your feedback 🙏

I think the solution would be having a two different sections

1) one in which I see what my followers are interacting with but which doesn't come from people that I already follow (so I can get new content)

2) one in which I see what people outside my followees see, provided that we have some notes in common that we both enjoy

I think this video will help:

Not sure, personally.

I tend to engage more than post notes, but any lack of engagement is probably in part due to people filtering their feed to 'follows' anyway.

i.e. unless you open the firehose and subject yourself to everything and anything, you are filtering new people out by default.

My way of navigating it is to filter for people I follow and their replies, so I see who they are talking to also.

I understand, thank you for your feedback 🤙

I also scroll now thru conversations and see the same thread over and over, that's exhausting.

It's because it's making "recommendation" per followere, so If I have 10 followers on the same thread I'll see the thread 10 times.

I want to see it only once.

No, I have not the same experience.

Im trying to find my pack. Growing though 💜🫂

This morning, I used Amethyst to "Share" the link to my saved messages in Telegram, which is an njump.me link.

When I just opened it, I was *floored* by the long, looooong list of clients. Man I remember when it was like four or so!

Nostr's biggest strength is that all your notes _can_ be seen everywhere. But eversince Amethyst radically changed it's relay handling, I no longer know where mine are actually stored - and it feels like Primal, Amethyst and Nostrudel ALL use a different method of retriving and storing them, which is genuenly a pain in the ass and why I will probably have to sit down and genuenly manually synchronize them between all of them - which suuuuuucks x.x

I haven't tried many of the new clients in a long while, mainly because I am now at work, and lost my RISC-V board which was where I had noscl/nak set up with my privkey and all to note via SSH. x) Been too lazy to bring that back - and I am not installing AKA Profile (my extension of choice for browser) on my work laptop - all the websocket traffick would have me flagged by that stupid Sophos firewall within seconds, I am sure. It deadass cucked me several times on SourceForge - and I do work at an IT company...

I think, from my limited perspective, that the fragmentation of clients is not the problem - but rather making sure that all clients get all notes... as in, relay management. But, that's just me. :)

Thanks for your feedback 🙏
