Almost reached my goal of meditating every day for a year… looking forward to meditating on a mountain in Maine next week, this has transformed my clarity and mental health. I’m grateful for this journey in self discovery ✨

is there a best time of the day you’ve found to do it? first thing in the morning?

Yes, right after you wake up.

Pee.

Then meditate 🙏

I find that yoga before meditation is optimal.

1hr yoga

1hr seated meditation

of course if you want to get all that done before sunrise you gotta get up early.

Oh I’m an early riser, but haven’t done enough yoga yet. Taken a few classes and it’s not really for me.

aerobics or lifting or whatever is good too

i do some seriously intense yoga,

the idea is to sweat and exert energy so that the mind is calm and happy for sitting

For sure. Important to stay limber, flexible, keep all the gears turning

also do you let yourself think freely and wildly or do you practice clearing your mind?

I tried to avoid electronic devices, or screens of any kind for the first hour of my day.

Then I begin my rituals of a peaceful morning…

Sit ups, push-ups, grinding coffee and pumping espresso, Rinse and repeat for girlfriend’s pourover.

Then I continue my healing journey immersed in memes for a while 😇

to wake up and not check your phone first thing in the morning is a pretty big challenge

For sure, but that first hour or so of the day is important.

Soon as your eyes hit the screen you begin processing data and that window of mindfulness and personal time is 💨

How did you start?

My neurologists, and therapists suggested it following a serious accident

It helps manage and curb unhelpful thinking, it also brings me peace, and helps me protect my good energy⚡️

Oh no, sorry to hear that bud. Hope all is good 🙏

I meant how did you start? Is it an app or do you just do it without?

Ahh!

Yes, I use an app called Incite Timer

But I’m sure there are many others that offer free guided meditations.

I would browse their selections and try different tracks, bookmark the ones that speak to you, and you can always revisit those whenever you want. Probably have about 20 or 30 earmarked, but sometimes I discover new ones too

Thank you bro will check it out 🤙
