Because I am tired of #Apple constantly fighting #Bitcoin business like #damus, #nostr or #vexl I decided to buy a second phone which will probably soon replace or at leas accompany my iPhone. What would be you recommendation if I want to improve my privacy and get rid of Apple?

I have iPhone 13 Pro.

I need:

- great and fast camera

- strong battery

- good GPS

- clean user interface

A few years back I left Android because it wasn’t smooth enough for me, but I hope they improved.

So, what are the models I should definitely look into as a #Bitcoiner?

Google Pixel 8 just launched. That or last year's Pixel 7. Every other device manufacturer is essentially a Shitcoin.

I’m a huge fan of the galaxy note… the pen is something I used a lot when I had one. But all that Samsung bloatware is brutal. In general I agree pixel 8 is the way. Literally the only feature keeping me on iPhone is iMessage.

You should add another criteria:

- long software update support

Many Android phones only receive 2 years of updates after product launch, some even less.

Pixel and Graphene go alright... Prepare for a world of typing and other interaction pains. Iphones are comparatively lovely to use. This message legitimately took four times as long for me to type on this fkn pixel with Graphene and FlorisBoard. Dicks.

🤣 just take the knee to the overlord, download Google Keyboard and disable network permission. Not ideal for our FOSS mindset but You'll have a much nicer time, iv tried every keyboard and nothing compares IMO.

Other UI annoyances I feel your pain 🥸 unfortunately AOSP is not iOS. You get used to it though.

I use both and as nice as iOS is, I use GrapheneOS more.

Pixel 6 Pro can be found for less than $250 with a year warranty on eBay. It's still a great phone. It gets official security updates from Google until October 2026.

Google Pixel phones allow you, surprisingly, to install another operating system. So try grapheneos.org , it is brilliant and respects your privacy. Some work required but you can slowly ween yourself off Apple.
