I'm sorry for asking stupid questions...

What's the fastest way to gift bitcoin in a physical greeting card?

I... did not plan accordingly. #asknostr

On chain or lightning?

Preferably lightning... it's for high school graduates I barely know πŸ˜‚

River link probably, as a qr code. There's also a way with LNbits that works without needing an exchange login, but it's not fast or easy (actually I just don't know how to do it).

Azteco vouchers maybe?

Good question

I only see an option to order fancy looking little cards through any of their vendors. If I ever start acting like a responsible adult, I'll try them 🀣

Seeing that too for the lightning voucher. Is it possible they're digital, and not actual cards? Pretty sure that's the case based on having used on chain azteco before in the past.

Amazon has some cool coins that have a qr code on the back if you have time to order one.

Worst case scenario I guess you could start a hot wallet and give them the words and delete it. They get a lesson in recovering a wallet and a BTC gift.

Apparently there's also lightsats.com

I dm'd you a test tip.

That was crazy easy! Thanks! I think that'll work perfectly.

Great, and it was really easy to make the tip too. I love that these little gems exist.

Me too! Thanks a bunch!

Lightsats is awesome

I have used lightsats.com several times in the past for this. Works great, and easy to redeem your sats back if they never claim them.

Lightsats also gives the giftee a bit of a tutorial to get them started when they scan to claim their sats.

I have seen BTC vouchers by Aztec. I have never used them and can’t vouch for them. A friend of mine has given gifts of wallets loaded with a few Sats. I’d be interested in knowing what you do.

I'm going to try lightsats.com . I'll report back 🫑

That is nifty! Thanks!

I ended up using this. The template is really easy to adjust, loading and test-claiming went smooth. For some reason, I had sparkly card stock, so they turned out pretty. I got to tell all the graduates, "It's imperative that you open your gift before 10am tomorrow," which was met with intrique. Very fun.

Fastest: Just print some #cashu #ecash πŸ€ πŸ€™

First you have to have it bought somewhere, on an exchange or on another wallet. You just create a new address and send it. I've done the same for a gift - created an address with Exodus and sent a small amount there. Then I put the words in an envelope. I sent directly from Wallet of Satoshi, since I had it there.

Do not use any online paper wallet generators u will be rugged

I make birthday cards that send 1,000 sats worth of bitcoin using cashu. You could make graduation cards like this too.

Sorry about the broken link.

Thank you! I've got this round worked out but I'll save this for the next

1) Create an on-chain Bitcoin wallet.

2) Send the required amount to it.

3) Convert the seed phrase into a QR code, print the QR code on a printer, and attach it to a physical greeting card.

Fund an address in your wallet. export the private key for that address as qr code or write it down. done.

lol I commented... a bit late.

haha, that's okay. A collection of answers is never a bad thing :)

Someone shared it and I failed to notice the original date πŸ˜‰

πŸ˜… You're not alone.

I personally like using the OpenDime for this and sending nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx β€˜s link for Spending to the recipient.

https://werunbtc.com/opendime

Something else he covered in a podcast is that you can actually send the OpenDime without funds, recording the receive address before sending, and then send the funds AFTER they receive it. Saves you the worry of losing the funds if it is lost in the mail.

MicroSD card with wallet file.
