Iām here occasionally
Discussion
Lurking donāt count, amigo.
I join in when I have something to say or ask.
Iāve never known you to be at a loss for words. Was āNostr firstā just bullshit then?
Thriving on being nasty is ugly, do better. We are all the same in different ways. We all have regrets, we all make mistakes. Whatever your animosity to Peter is, it is likely not worth being mean for being means sake.
Unless Iām misunderstanding and your trying to bully him in a friendly way into using Nostr more cause you want Peters input around here? š
No, itās just signalling to the other morons
Itās sad really. You can come and go on nostr and Damus when you like. Who cares! Iāve taken a week off just recently. I must be evil!! And bear in mind some of the biggest names in bitcoin #[6]ā and #[7]ā have basically posted nothing since jointing. Do I judge them for that? No! Hate him or like him at least #[5]ā pops in every now and again.
Guys, Iām not even trying to be mean. I really just wondered what if saying āElon ruined Twitter. Nostr first.ā was genuine, given that there was no follow through.
I donāt necessarily agree with a bunch of Peterās takes but I would rather have him be in the conversation than avoiding it simply because we arenāt helping grow his podcast business.
Thereās more to being a bitcoiner than brand-building.
Then stop acting like a twat. I do plenty for bitcoin outside of running a podcast. I sponsor London BitDevs, I donate bitcoin to lots of projects from Peter Toddās open timestamps to Anita Poscheās work in Africa. I donated to Tor. There is a lot more and I shouldnāt have to list it here just because I havenāt met some strict set of guidelines that you require.
Iām busy editing a film, buying a new business and closing in on a promotion for my football team. Iāll be in Nostr when I need it but right now Twitter is a useful tool for my companies and the ALGO is fixed.
So far Iāve been called a:
stalker
moron
twat
And Iām the one whoās āmean.ā
Got any other choice words?
I donāt have time for this shit. Laters.
Pv š¤
Iām totally not against brand-building. Heās running a business. Judge him as you wish. But balance the positives with the revenue-generating negatives. Heās given a platform to many a big bitcoiner. Heās given purpose to a number of talented but overlooked footballers. Yes, heās promoted some crap that sounded good at the time but hey, weāve all done that, especially those working in the marketing business. Things often go tits up later. I mean take Twitter. Jack built that. Heās liked but what is Twitter now? Elon was liked by many but now perhaps not so much. I say judge those by their activity, output and their personal
interaction. If Peter is all about self promotion then it will become evidently tiring after a while and perhaps this is where you are with him - also fair enough so just ignore rather than attack - but for me heās done enough to balance that with genuine questions about bitcoinās impact and influence as well as publishing personal battles with British banks (I can relate to that!) and even court cases with Faketoshi. If itās all crap, at least itās entertaining and I donāt feel the need bring him down for it.
I donāt think #[7]ā is questioning any of that. Seems like Pete is easily agitated and brings his twitter hostility across platforms. He seems like a chill dude in person though.
Defensiveness can be due to feelings of insecurity. Iām pretty sure what I said pales in comparison to some of the other things hurled at him on a daily basis. Iām not those people.
Like I said, I think he brings his argumentative Twitter attitude across platforms.
That said, I am one of āthose morons.ā A regular old pleb. Some of these inflooencers got some real attitude. But you know, theyāre healing the world and really the ones who are brining bitcoin to the masses. So we better kiss their arse.
If someone acts like a prick then Iāll speak to them like a prick.
Yep, I hear you and I like and follow #[7]ā so I was surprised by the response (Peter is still on Twitter so the agitation and Twitter hostility is still ingrained š) But I believe heās a decent bloke off the platformsā¦
Peter, Iām sure weād have a great chat over some beers and this will all be forgotten. Next drink at Pubkey is on me. š»
Donāt forget your face diaper. Peter is easily sniffled. Donāt let guys like him off the hook for that shit. He had an audience and defended the vaxx at all costs. Heās a cuck shit.
Iām chill in person as people are chill in person. Nobody has the balls to talk in real life like they do on Twitter, if they did theyād be on their arse.
If people are hostile behind their keyboard then theyāll get called what they are. I meet people exactly how they ask to be met.
I have no argument with that. I really didnāt see what I said as trying to bring anyone down. I was genuinely puzzled at what āNostr firstā meant. Fine, Twitter fixed some of the things Elon broke, great. Functionality aside, it just sounds like because Nostr isnāt a revenue driver, itās not seen as important enough a platform for someone with such a public profile. Thatās fine, just say so. But retorting with personal insults is childish. I wonāt stoop to that level.
i think itās just naturally part of the way some people speak. like where iām from, here in southern california, many of us curse a lot & use āinsultingā words _casually_, if that makes sense. pretty sure many like in new york or england do the same.
Itās easy to give attention to the negative people Pete. Focus on the love. Thanks for all you do in the space, Iāve learned a lot from your content. Go Bedfordā ļø
Whatās wrong with lurking?
Normally Iād say nothing, except that a month ago he said āNostr firstā but just kept on tweeting and barely wrote a word here.
Stalker weirdo
So it was all bullshit. Cool, thanks for acknowledging.
No but Twitter fixed the algo and I use that for different reasons. I have businesses to run and they are all tools I use as I need.
So Elon didnāt ruin Twitter after all?
Pete does bitcoin advertising/marketing. He needs the twit.
This is true and Iām not ashamed of it
Heās just promoting leftists these days. Let it be.
I donāt promote leftists, I have people on my podcast who are from the left and the right, as well as libertarians and anarchists. If you count, we have more from the right than the left but itās important that we introduce more from the left as they will be the advocates for bitcoin with those on the left.
Thatās all true. However, you promote leftists and debate the right.
Iām still simmering in my shame, but Iāll reply anyway. Bitcoin is money for enemies. However, thereās no need to push enemies into prices they donāt deserve. The meme is real and gilding enemies of freedom is counter-productive.
āWe need an equal number of correct and incorrect ideasā is not the way.
I donāt see you (or anyone else) bringing in Saudi princes to talk about using bitcoin to keep banking access away from wives.
Or Russians to talk about undermining the west.
āEnemiesā generally means āpeople who Iām not actually afraid of losing toā. Itās not a true meme.
Finally, you may counter this argument by saying āthose are part of the rightā. If so, you reveal the real issue. āThe rightā contains what you believe to be your actual enemies. There is no limit to what is tolerable to āthe leftā, but all limits exist to āthe rightā. That means all of the enemies are to the right.
Ideas are subjective. I bring in people who I think offer value.
Do your true enemies offer value? Mine donāt, by my assessment. āBitcoin is money for enemiesā isnāt a justification for what youāre doing. Youāre elevating your allies. Call it what it is.
Echo chambers are fucking boring, please keep having a variety of people on for interesting chat and ignore the whinging š¤
I support this sentiment
Value is subjective. Do what you like with your show. Itās yours. But donāt pretend youāre right when you revert to subjectivity when challenged.
Only if we would be able to justify the terminal cancer of social engineering when driven by intentional ignorance, Iām sure weād all be better off, Peter.
You know, like using false pretenses and straight up lies to justify the corruption which feeds false cored social constructs just because it fits the fake narrative.
āItās judgement that defeats usā - Kurtz

Then whether ānothingā is something we can implore and claim just because it was the platform which users defined the science on is considered thieving or just piracy to make the time less offensive, as having targeted and aimed because created an illuminating page, is quite sickening and corrupt, wouldnāt you agree, Mark?

What? I donāt think we can, but letās have a plague and war be a party pooper when violating our privacies is paid for by tax dollars.
letās discuss the effects of user handlers being violated and the viral infections that followed.
Pudding?

#mainvolume be like, yeah thinking is a mainvolume thing.
Versing aināt gonna make real if the faked, big bro.
Peace be with you, Peter.
Bitcoin needs people from all sides to succeed, and it seems Peter is doing what he thinks is the best way to accomplish that. Thatās cool. As someone who was once a huge Bernie supporter and now canāt stand any political party, I have a lot of friends and family who think Iām insane for promoting bitcoin.
Being a bitcoiner with ideas the left is super hard because then everyone you talk to gives you shit. š

That also happens if youāre wrong. Having everyone tell you your ideas are stupid sometimes means your ideas are stupid.
I donāt think itās healthy to be a purist. It makes you too susceptible to manipulation.
Do you believe that some ideas are true and some ideas are false?
I believe in engaging people from
where they are and not starting from a point of telling them everything they stand for is stupid. I find thatās the least effective way to win people over to any position.
Do you think some ideas are right and some ideas are wrong?
Yes, but I wonāt get into an hours-long political debate about it. Thatās not why Iām here.
Ok cool. Some people are right and others are wrong. š
I want to hear the ideas of more people who are right. I donāt care to hear from people who are wrong. If folks prefer to spend their time listening to people who are wrong thatās their business.
Since the leftists are the apparent majority on certain communication channels *cough*Reddit*cough*, probably also FB and the bird app (neither of which I use, so I don't know), most likely accelerated by algorithms, orange-pilling the leftists is what would give the most bang for the buck, if the fiat idiom is excused. (Bang for the kSat?)
Bitcoin doesn't care about left or right. Only keys.
Call me crazy. Enriching your enemies to imminentize the eschaton is a bad plan.
Pretty sure you can do better than this š¦¦š
