How much spam do you see in replies? It's time to start reading replies only from relays that have some form of spam control. And when replying clients should keep that in mind and be sure to publish the reply to a relay where it is likely to be read.

Same muted bots, usually! 🐶🐾🫡🤗
Muting is not a solution. I don't want to download spam and filter it locally. I also don't want this job of muting people forever.
Is h there a robust way to identify spam though? Or to put it differently, can spam reports be games by malicious actors?
I imagine a relay could recognize when a user posts the same string over and over, and rate limit/block them.
Just use a random pubkey every time.
Hmmm, maybe the relay could detect when a specific string is being posted in quick succession by any pubkeys period, and block posts that contain that string, at least temporarily.
That’s true. We need to preserve client bandwidth or else mobile usage will decline! Need so heuristics on relay to drop that crap! 🐶🐾🫡
All mutings are not spam. Some people are muted by some coz their content may be offensive to them.
Or they post too frequently so I may mute them but go to their timelines to see if there are anything interesting I missed.
there’s a few repeat-offender bots. i muted them and now its fine
Not much really.
I seem to have intuitively developed the skill of mentally filtering out the spam in any feed 😁
#nostr gave me superpowers
I probably haven't seen any spam here. Yet at least.
Near zero, a couple of bots, muted.
Not seeing much spam. All major relays including public ones have spam filters.
Reply spam only occassionally
A couple of bots really
Net zero. My follower base is very limited.
Not much. A few bots showed up repeatedly. Muted and they are gone for now.
I've muted maybe 5 or 6 bots, but still I see multiple ChatGPT bots, a random bot that writes long paragraphs in French, and every day a new different shitcoin ad.
Got caught in chat with a bot today, annoyed I didn’t recognise it sooner but it’s not immediately noticeable unless you check
Pretty much zero for me.
Well, it’s significantly better than twitter in all aspects.
I think I agree, but isn't this more complicated for amethyst, where a not insignificant amount of genuine users get muddled in with spam and autoblocked (?)
None I think. Just a few spammers blocked/muted so far.
Not much, but I haven’t been here long, don’t follow a ton of people (yet), and don’t have a huge following.
I've muted a couple of bots (not even recently) and that's it.
Zero spam. I turn off global for all relays that have spam reported. Oneoff the features I love about amethyst
through iris, barely any because of its 'web of trust'. through snort and coracle its visible. I think nostr band has a full view of notes and spam (i could be wrong)
