What’s the best entry level stuff to run?
Just running a free and simple relay is probably the easiest way to do it. I would start playing with stirfry if you're interested. You can modify it fairly easy. Like for instance, I'm running a spam filter in front of my free relay. It's taught me a lot about how to combat spam.

Nah. Algos can be wonderful and beneficial. The reason we immediately think of them as being bad is because of how they're used in legacy social media. They're closed and they're forced upon us. If algorithms were open source and transparent and allowed user choice, I feel that people would have a much more positive view of them. We're building that here. We're allowing users to choose and create their own algorithms or allowing users choice over their attention and their feed content

Although I think nostr is the best platform we currently have, I actually have created my own platform it started out with nostr and ipfs integration but now I do everything in house. It's unique because it's like nostr, ipfs, BitTorrent and it's all secured by blockchain metadata transactions that can actually scale to an insane amount of TPS. Follow me as I'll be releasing the white paper soon, just finalising the mesh network for 2gb file storage built in everything else is finished just some polish and stress testing then release in the new year. It is worthless then, if you depend on WoT and a reputation to thrive. That’s why is a niche platform. And it will stay that way for a very long time. With circle of people making arbitrary decisions and the inability to block them when they dox you. I prefer to be shadowbanned by the billionare, the algorithm and X AI checking balances than being shadowbanned by a couple of nobodies in their mother’s basements.
